REV. DR. JOHN ALLEN in 1829; died Dec. 11, 1871 at 11 P.M. aged 67 years and 4 months... Died on 9th Dec. at the residence of his parents on Monroe St., North Nashville, JOHNNIE, infant son of JOHN W. and LYDIA WATKINS aged 17 months. SOLOMON SEAGROVES (@ 73 NC) of Chambers Co. Ala. died on the 4th aged 107. His wife (SARAH @ 62 NC) is still living and is over 100. In Monroe Co. Ala. on the 29th, two old and respected citizens, ENOCH RILEY (@ 39 SC) and JEHIAL COTTON (@ 39 SC) killed each other. COL. JAMES McADORY, an old citizen of Jefferson Co. Ala. died on the 3rd. ARTHUR McCLUNG, Esq. formerly of Huntsville was married to MISS MARY E. LEE of Pickensville, Ala. at that place on 23 November. December 22, 1871 Married in this city on 21st by REV. FATHER BAAZAR, CAPT. P(?) H. FLOOD of Washington, D.C. to MISS IDA L. FRYE of Huntsville. Married on the 6th at the residence of the bride's father in Mobile (MARY BURTON HALE'S grandparents) by REV. DR. BURGITT, MR. WM. E. MATHEWS of this city to MISS CARRIE M. TARDY, daughter of BR. TARDY, Esq. Married on the 14th at the residence of L. H. LANIER, Esq. in Nashville, Tennessee by REV. DR. A. J. BAIRD, MR. TOM MANEY to MISS IDA MORRIS. Married in Mobile on the 12th by W. E. JENNINGS, Esq. MR. JEREMIAH McCLELLAN of Austin (Travis Co.), Texas to MISS VIRGINIA BEEMAN of this city. Married on the 12th by REV. B. W. BUSSEY, MR. EDWARD C. STRONG to MISS BETTIE ALLEN, all of this county. Married on the 12th by REV. JOHN A. BRYAN, MR. JOHN W. IKARD, JR. to MISS MARY E. PORTER), on the 20th by REV. THOMAS MADDIN, D.D., THOMAS M. STEGER to NANNIE G. EAKIN. MR. BENDALL S. ANYAN died on the 24th at an advanced age. A well-known citizen. Died on the 1st after a short illness, MR. CHRIS. B. DONEGAN of this place. Had a most brilliant mind, many noble qualities and hosts of friends. Served in the 4th Ala. and was a gallant Confederate.
