CHARLES HALL, an old citizen of Barbour Co. died in Eufaula last week aged 81. He served with GEN. JACKSON in Indian War. HON. JOHN P. GRAHAM of Marion died last week. He was a soldier of 1812 under JACKSON and was a member of the State Senate one or two terms. State of Alabama--Madison Co. GEORGE W. WELLS, administrator of ELIZABETH SLOAN, deceased. SLOAN, BETHIAH POWER, ALMIRA POWER, MARY POWER, ROBERT POWER, ALABAMA POWER TENNESSEE POWER, who reside in Ark; MARTHA E. wife of --- WATSON, LEANDER JEFFERSON MASENGALE, DEMPSEY THOMAS MASENGALE, MARY VIRGINIA HILL, wife of --- HILL, LODINA KETURAO MASENGALE, ANNE E. MASENGALE, THOMAS EPISON, who reside in Texas. October 11, 1872 MR. WILLIAM PAYNE, an old citizen of Lowndes Co. died last week aged 76. Tribute of respect to COL. GEORGE ANDERSON GORDON by Church of Nativity. COL. NATHANIEL TERRY, well-known throughout North Alabama died in Texas recently. MRS. PHOEBE HAMLET, an old, well-known and highly esteemed lady died at her residence near this city Friday last aged 92. October 18, 1872 MR. WILLIAM WELLS, County Treasurer died this morning Sat. about 7 o'clock. Married in the vicinity of Huntsville Oct. 10 by REV. MR. STAINBACK, JAMES A. MOORE of Marion. Ala. to MISS SALLIE, daughter of JAMES B. ROBINSON of Madison Co. Married on the evening of the 10th at Church of Nativity in this city by REV. J. M. BANISTER. GEORGE S. GORDON, Esq. to MISS MATTIE EASON, daughter of the late ALCUIN EASON. We regret to learn that MR. JAMES P. SPRINGER, son of our old friend, JOSIAH SPRINGER died at the residence of the latter near Triana on the 10th. J. M. PROVINE, one of oldest citizens of Memphis died on the 10th aged about 60. October 25, 1872 Married on the 17th at the residence of the bride's mother in Madison, Ala. by REV. MR. ROBERTSON, MR. THOMAS B. HOPKINS to MISS VIRGINIA HARRIS. Married on the 16th by REV. DR. J. M. BANISTER, MR. JOHN BARBER to MISS KATE GRAVES, all of this city. Died in Pleasant Hill on the 12th, a little daughter of DR. A. G. CLOPTON, formerly of Madison Co. Ala. WILLIAM C. PENICK, Past Grand Master of Masonic Grand Lodge of Ala. died at Wetumpka on the 16th aged 72. November 1, 1872 ROBERT DAVIS of Butler aged more than 90 years died in Lowndes Co. on 4th. He helped to erect the first house that was built at Montgomery. November 8. 1872 Married on 30 Oct. in Nashville, Tenn, by REV. DR. R. A. YOUNG, MR. LEONARD F. DAVIS to MISS BESSIE K. SAWRIE, youngest daughter of REV. DR. W. D. F. SAWRIE, formerly of this city. MR. ALFRED H. DICKERSON, an old citizen of Eufaula died there last week. November 15 1872 Married on the 7th at the residence of the bride's father by REV. DR. F. A. ROSS, MR. F. P. COUSINS of Memphis, Tenn, to MISS SUE JOLLY, daughter of MR. BENJ. JOLLY of this city. Died in this county on 30 Oct. of congestion of brain, MR. ROBERT M. LYNE, an old citizen of this county aged 54. 261 - (3561)
