July 30, 1879 LEVI HENRY HOTZ died July 28, 1879 of typhoid fever aged 19 years 11 months and 10 days. Born in Freesburg, Snyder Co., Penns. September 18, 1859. The father of the deceased came from Sumner County, Ohio in 1872 and settled within 2 miles of Huntsville, where he has since been known as a highly respected gentleman.... October 8, 1879 Died in Atlanta, Georgia Saturday September 27th, REBECCA J., wife of HON. JOHN ERSKINE and daughter of the late GABRIEL SMITH, Esq. of Limestone County, Alabama aged 46. Died at Bloomfield, Madison County, Ocrober 2d. MR. D. M. CLOUD in his 63rd year. MRS. MARY C. PATTON (@ 24 in 1850), wife of MR. WILLIAM R. PATTON (@ 32) died at. his residence on Meridianville Pike on Sunday night last. Died in this city last Friday evening after a brief illness, MISS KATIE M. JOHNSON, daughter of MRS. E. K. JOHNSON. November 12, 1879 FREDERICK ELGIN, aged and well known citizen of this city died a few days ago in Corinth, Mississippi after a painful illness of several months, in his 79th year. Member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church, ordained an elder in 1836.... MRS. ALICE MURRAY, wife of A. F. MURRAY died in this city.... November 19. 1879 Died at the residence of her husband, J. N. BLAIR in Dardanelle (Yell Co), Arkansas on the 18th instant, MRS. HARRIET P. BLAIR aged 37 years 9 months and 9 days. Bom in Jackson (to Christian) County, Alabama and married in her 17th year to J. N. BLAIR in Marion County, Tennessee. Joined Methodist Episcopal Church South in Huntsville in 1861 where lived until 1870 at which time she came with her husband to Arkansas. Leaves husband and 7 children. November 26.1879 M1SS MATILDA ALLEN, young daughter of MRS. E. C. ALLEN died at the residence of MR. THOMAS CAIN near Madison on the 23rd.... Short time since, had to mourn the loss of her father. December 3, 1879 "Died in Marianna (Lee Co.), Dec. 2nd MRS. MARY A. RUSSELL aged 45, relic of the late R. F. RUSSEL, Esq. of Huntsville, Ala. Leaves 3 children, HARRY, ROBERT and LULA (MRS. J. P. WRIGHT)...” Marianna (Ark.) Index. January 19 ,1881 DR. ALVA DeBOW has left for his new home near Lagrange, southern Texas. January 26, 1881 Died in Madison County on the 20th of January of pneumonia, CHARLES ALLEN DAVIS in his 21st year. At her residence in this city Saturday, January 22nd after a lingering illness, MRS. JANE E. WEEDEN. Died January 17th, KATY FEARN aged 19, eldest daughter of MRS. ELIZA FEARN. MR. C. H. HALSEY of this city received a telegram from near Charlotte, North Carolina telling of the death of his brother, T. R. HALSEY (well known here as DICK HALSEY) in a railroad disaster. He was conductor on a train. Leaves a wife and three small children. February 16,1881 Died, MR.“JAMES A. WILLICK, merchant of this city after an illness of four days. Died Monday the 14th instant. He was born in Baltimore, Md. and was about 56 years old. Settled in Huntsville 25 years ago. Was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. March 2, 1881 Died, MR. JOHN W.
