He died near his home near Meridianville about noon yesterday of apoplexy. March 9, 1881 Died at her home near Alexandria, Fairfax County, Virginia on the 1st instant, MRS. D. C. HUMPHREYS, wife of the late JUDGE D. C. HUMPHREYS, who was for many years a resident of this city. Prior to his death, her husband was a Judge of the Supreme Court of the District of Columbia. March 16, 1881 MRS. ANNIE HUTCHINSON BONE died at the Huntsville Hotel on March 11th. Wife of CAPT. J. H. BONE. Remains taken to Lebanon, Ohio by her husband and son for interment in the family burying ground. March 23 1881 Died Friday, March 18th at the residence of his brother the late REV. JOHN M. ROBERTSON, VANS MURRAY ROBERTSON in the 70th year of his age. Died at the residence of her son, THOMAS 0. LOVE, Esq., near Cluttsville on the 21st instant, MRS. MARGARET A. LOVE in the 73rd year of her age. March 30, 1881 Died at her residence in this city on Thursday, March 24th in her 64th year, MRS. MARY TURNER MASTIN. Died in this city March 25th, EMMA L., wife of J. WALTER LAXSON in her 24th year. Died at the residence of her son, MR. TATE LOWRY near this city on the 27th, MRS. ELIZABETH LOWRY in her 86th year. Born in Logan County, Kentucky and moved to this county early in life. Married SAMUEL LOWRY October 31, 1816. Member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Died March 25th after a lingering illness, MRS. CEMANTHE P(ARKER) GRUBBS, devoted wife of L(UCIUS) H. GRUBBS aged 48 years. April 6, 1881 Died in McMinnville, Tennessee on April 2nd, MRS. FRENCH (nee MISS L. VIRGINIA SMITH); born in Virginia, she married quite young, MR. JOHN L. FRENCH, wealthy stockman of Tennessee. She leaves her husband, two daughters and one son, also a cultured and gifted sister, MRS. NILES MERRIWEATHER of this city. Died Wednesday, March 30th of pulmonary complaint, MATTIE TAYLOR, wife of ALEXANDER ERSKINE aged 23 years. April 20, 1881 MR. NASH MALONE (note: NASHVILLE MALONE), well-known citizen of this county came to an instantaneous and terrible death on Friday last, April 15th. He had been suffering from mental aberration. Had been hunting, but returned and went to the woods with his brother, MR. LOU MALONE, where they cut and dressed some posts. Borrowed a gun and shot himself. Was in his 53rd year. Interred in the city cemetery at Huntsville. May 4, 1881 Died at his father's home 8 miles west of Huntsville yesterday morning at 6% o'clock, FULTON CLEMENT LANIER. Had been ill several weeks of tubercular meningitis. Was in his 15th year. Funeral will take place from the residence of his father, BURWELL LANIER, Esq. June 1, 1881 MR. JAMES H. BURROW died at his residence in this city on Friday, May 27th. Born in Raleigh, North Carolina on January 21, 1805 and was therefore in his 77th year. His residence in this city dates back to 1836. Two sons and three daughters survive. July 13, 1881 Died of apoplexy Monday afternoon after an illness of a few hours, MRS. M(ARTHA) A(NN) CAYTON (w of STEPHEN S) in her 74th year. Born in Goochland County, Virginia in 1808. Funeral took place from the 277 - (3577)
