residence of her cousin, MRS. BETTIE DELP with whom she had resided. August 3, 1881 Death of JOHN G. RUSSELL, prominent citizen of Athens (Limestone County)--died Tuesday morning. August 24, 1881 Died--MR. BRYANT COBB, who has been a resident of this county for about 40 years, died at his residence at Cone Spring Sunday evening. He was 80 years of age and was a soldier of the War of 1812. JOHN H. TABER died Friday morning August 19, 1881 at the residence of his grandson, DAVIS RICE 1 mile southwest of New Hope in this county. The deceased was 92 last February. Had been a citizen of this county for a number of years. Served in the War of 1812-14 and was at the battle of New Orleans. August 31, 1881 Death of CAPT. A. J. FLANNIGAN, native of Madison County is announced in the Vicksburg Herald of the 28th. He was for a number of years Sheriff of Warren Co. Miss. Died of consumption. September 7, 1881 Died in this city Tuesday the 6th instant at an advanced age, MRS. DELIA SALE, relict of CAPT. DUDLEY SALE. Funeral at 5 o'clock from the residence of MRS. S. A. JOHNSON. Services by REV. DR. BRYSON. Died in this city of apoplexy Wednesday morning at the residence of MRS. M. A. RUSSELS, MRS. MISSOURI W. McCALLEY aged 53. October 5, 1881 Died in this city Thursday morning September 29, 1881, AUGUSTUS FRANCIS, infant daughter of WILLIAM F. and M. C. STRUVE aged 6 months and 4 days. MRS. FLORA A. FORD, wife of DR. HOWARD FORD died near Dexter, Missouri September 5th. She was born in Huntsville and was the daughter of A. E. MILLS, first president of the Memphis and Charleston Railroad. Died Sunday, September 2nd after a lingering illness, JOHN PHILLIPS. October 12,1881 A postal from MAJ. W. R. WHITMAN of New Market brings intelligence of death of JAMES JONES, promising young son of COL. W. B. JONES at the residence near New Market. JAMES S. CLARK died Saturday the 8th instant at his home in Decatur (Morgan County) in his 53rd year. Left a wife and children. Was a prominent member of the Legislature. Died at his home in New Market Friday the 7th instant, of heart disease, COL. J. M. HAMBRICK. December 7, 1881 Died on the 5th instant at the Stegall Hotel, CYRUS MOORE in his 35th year; died of typhoid malarial fever. Bereaved mother and brother reached here Sunday afternoon and carried the remains to his former home, Oak Hill, Lincoln County, Tennessee. July 25, 1883 MR. WALTER S. FLETCHER and MISS MARY ELLEN BEASLEY were married by the REV. JOHN A. THOMSON at 3 p.m. Monday July 23 at the residence of the bride's father, DR. JAMES A. BEASLEY near Huntsville. Jackson, Miss. July 1st, 1883. JOHN B. FEARN, an old resident of this place but since the War a resident of New Orleans died here this morning. He was First Lieutenant, Co. K. BURT Rifles, 18th Regt, during the war and was disabled from service by a severe wound received at the Battle of Leesburg, Va. He was a gallant soldier and one of nature's noblemen. MR. FEARN was a native of Huntsville the son of MR. GEORGE FEARN, who removed hence to Mississippi with his father long before the War between the States. August 1, 1883 JAMES W. HAWKINS and MISS MAY CHEEK of Jefferson Co. Ala. were married July 28th by REV. J. A. B. LOVETT. The parties ran away from Birmingham and were married in'Tenn, just across the State Line. 278 - (3578)
