NEWBY CEMETERY LOCATION: Sec. 3-2S-2W - C. S/2 NW/4. Off Toney Road approximately one-half mile east of Toney, Alabama. NEWBY, JAMES - In memory of James Newby, born October 13, 1788 and died February 22, 1861. James Newby -M- Sally Haines on NEWBY, SALLIE - Wife of James Newby, died Nov. 26, 1881, 12-26-1825 age about 75 years. The wife, the friend, the mother (MB-III). dear, in dreamless sleep reposes here; may those whose I love to her was given, all meet and live with her in Heaven. Note: Sallie Haines Newby was bom August 4, 1803. Census, Nov. 14, 1850: Newby, James (60) Va., farmer - $2000. Sarah (44) Va. James (16) Ala. Volentine (14) " Henry (12) " Elizabeth ( 9) " Hanes, Mildred (80) Va. NEWBY, SARAH J. - Bom Nov. 10, 1831 - died January 7, 1882. NEWBY, EMMA A. Z. -Daughter of H. W. & A. V. Newby, bora July 8, 1877, died November 15, 1896. CARTER, BETTIE C. NEWBY - Wife of A. H. Carter, bora Feb. 13, 1867 - died August 19, 1910. A beloved wife and mother. CARTER, JIMMIE - Son of A. H. & Bettie Carter. July 19, 1897 - March 5, 1914. In youth and love he died. CRUTCHER, WILLIAM D. - Son of D. C. & A. T. Crutcher, died March 12, 1884, aged 21 years, 11 mo., 29 days. CRUTCHER, ANN T. - Wife of D. C. Crutcher, born Dec. 17, 1826, died April 8, 1899. Rest, Mother, rest in Angel sleep while friends in sorrow o'er thee weep. Note: There were two graves in this cemetery which were marked only with field stones; no identification visible. Note: David C. Crutcher -M- Ann T.
