April 3, 1834 Died on 10th inst. at the age of about 70, CAPTAIN BENJAMIN PEETE of Limestone County; native of Virginia. May 1, 1834 Died on 11th inst. in Lawrence County, ALEXANDER AUSTIN in his 84th year. Moved to this state from South Carolina and was a lieutenant in the Revolution, and continued in service throughout arduous struggle. Died on 23rd inst. MRS. REBECCA J. wife of DR. ALFRED MOORE at residence in this county, Daughter of the late DR. PETER J. BEASLY of Brunswick County, Virginia; she died in her 24th year. Like her mother and grandmother she died after a premature parturition of her first child. The infant survives. State of Alabama--Jackson County. Orphans Court, 7 May, 1834. ROBERT H. BROYLES filed petition in Court setting forth that he purchased from JOHN BASHAM of said county certain land and said JOHN BASHAM died without making deed to said BROYLES. THENY BASHAM, administratrix of estate of said JOHN BASHAM. Died on 6th inst. MRS. ELVIRA VINING, wife of JOHN VINING, Esq. at Oak Grove, his residence in this county in her 33rd year. Died in Huntsville Friday evening, 10th of May, MR. ZACHARIAH PRICE in his 30th year; native of Charles County, Maryland, but for few years past has resided near Murfreesboro, Ten. Died on ---- inst. JAMES P. NOWLIN at an advanced age. Moved to this state from Hanover County, Virginia and for last 12 or 15 years has resided in the vicinity of Huntsville. June 5, 1834 DANIEL B. TURNER and JARED I. SAMPLE announce as candidates as sheriff. JEFFERSON HAYTER, CAPT. JAMES TAYLOR and CAPT. ROBERT W. DAVIE are candidates for Colonel of the 2nd Regiment Alabama Militia, because of the resignation of ELIAS WELLBORN. W. GRAVES BOULDIN and WM. T. T. AVANT are candidates for tax collector; for Representatives, COL. WM. FLEMING, JOHN D. PHELAN, Esq. COL. SAMUEL WALKER, COL. JOHN K. DUNN. DONALD CAMPBELL advertises residence in Morresville for sale. Land for sale, Marengo County; 720 acres; see R. INGE near Erie or PETER or PETER MARTIN Esq. near the premises. St. Clair County; THOMAS M. BARKER, executor of the will of MALCOLM McCRANEY dec'd will make final settlement. Died Saturday the 31st ult. at residence near this place WILLIAM BIBB, SEN. Esq. in his 51st year, a respectable citizen of this country. Left a family and large circle of relatives. Died on Sunday the 24th inst. MRS. ABIGAIL WHITE, consort of HON. JOHN WHITE of Courtland. Died on 5th inst. WILLIAM EPPES, infant son of DANIEL HARRIS, Esq. of this county. June 19, 1834 Died in this county on 3rd of June of bilious pleurisy MRS. ELIZABETH POWEL, consort of CAPT. PEYTON POWELL to her 66th year. Member of the Methodist Church, Richmond Enquirer copy. Died ELIZA NEWMAN, infant daughter of CAPTAIN DANIEL B. TURNER. State of Alabama--Jackson County. Orphans Court. 26 May 1834. Administration on estate of JOHN W. LONG, deceased filed.
