August 6, 1834 Departed this life on Monday the 21st of July MISS MARY H., daughter of the REV. ZADOK W. BAKER of Marengo County, Ala. formerly of Madison County, in the 15th year of her age, of a painful illness of 8 days. Advertisement: Giles County, Tennessee--MARSHALL MOODY vs JOHN DUKE MENEAR and wife JOANNA B. Both defendants are non residents of this state; in the year 1830 complainant executed note to JOANNA B. MOODY widow of a deceased brother and also guardian of his children. Complainant with one DAVID SHELTON was security of said JOANNA B. who was appointed guardian of her said children by the County Court of Mecklenberg County, Va. where SHELTON still resides. Said JOANNA B. and her present husband JOHN DUKE MENEAR are disposing of property... (Note: is this the name the one now spelled DUKEMENIER?) Letter from WARNER WASHINGTON of St. Clair County; Is about a fence dispute; states was feeling infirm when came to this country and gave MR. WILLIAM GARRET control over his affairs, who with his brother JOHN GARRETT, closed a lane leading to the house of a MR. MEANS. After the trouble arose "MR. GARRETT ordered me from his house... unkind treatment from a son-in-law." Whereupon he went to the house of MR. MEANS. "MRS. WASHINGTON and her son went to support her rights." "I have passed the meridian of life." August 20,1834 Land for sale; having determined to move further south"...6 miles northeast of Florence...WILLIAM M. BURTON. Died, on the morning of Saturday, the 9th inst. MARY LOUISA, daughter of MR. RICHARD A. WIGGINS of this village, aged 4 years (Triana, Aug. 16, 1834). Hazelgreen, August 14, 1834. ELIZABETH THOMASON, consort of JAMES THOMASON of Pink Hill, in 52 year. Was on a visit to her daughter two miles from home. September 3, 1834 Notice by REUBEN CRUTCHER of a note drawn by WALTER SELBY and sent to MASON WOOD of Jackson County; lost. Married Wednesday, 13th ult. by REV. PLEASANT B. ROBINSON, THOMAS P. COLLINS, Esq. to MISS ADALINE B. M'CAY, daughter of MR. WILLIAM M'CAY, all of this place. Married on 28th inst. by REV. A. G. GIBSON, REV. 0. D. STREET of Winchester, Tennessee to MISS MARY ANN ADKINS, daughter of THOMAS ADKINS, Esq. of Madison Co. Died in Jacosn County Thursday 14th of August, MR. WILLIAM JONES, a Revolutionary soldier, aged about 86 years. Left several children. Died in Columbia, Tenn, of cholera, REV. LORENZO D. OVERALL, minister in the Methodist Church. Died Friday at his residence, MR. JAMES HAM, one of the oldest settlers of the county. Died at Meridianville on the night of 27th of August DR. WILLIAM H. WYCHE, late of Mississippi. Left widowed mother, brothers and sisters. Died on 1st inst. at residence in Amherst near Lynchburg, REV. STITH MEAD of Methodist Church in 68th year, leaving widow and seven children; native of Virginia (Lynchburg, Virginia, Aug. 7). September 10, 1834 Died at residence of her father in Limestone County, MRS. JANE A. JONES, wife of HARDEMAN F. JONES, Esq. of MADISON JONES, aged 31 years 1 mo. 303 - (3603)
