Married Thursday evening 6th of August by REV. WILLIAM McMAHAN, H(ARDY) H. MOORE, Esq. to MISS PENELOPE N. KING, all of Madison Co. Died on 9th inst. at residence of his father, DUDLEY SALE, MR. THOMAS D. SALE aged 18. August 26, 1835 Died on 14th inst. DAVID M. WOOD, Esq. aged about 38, native of Virginia and has lived in or near Abingdon. Was a carpenter. Lived in this neighborhood 8 or 9 years as a grocer. (Tombstone shows D. M. WOOD d 1835 aged 38 Gray cemetery in Madison.) Died at Harrodsburg Springs, Kentucky on 9th, COLONEL CHARLES McCLUNG of Knox County (Tenn.) in 75th year. Native of Pennsylvania. Took up residence in East Tennessee. Was father of JAMES W. McCLUNG of this place. September 16, 1835 Died on Sunday, 30th of August at residence near here in 36th year of age, MRS. ANN LAVINIA EASON, consort of MAJ. WILLIAM EASON. Filled the role of wife and stepmother gracefully. Left seven children the youngest about 9 months old. Note: She m. Nov. 1820 in Madison Co. & was dau of PHILIP J. ROOTES. Died on 1st, MRS. BYNUM, President. Died, in Decatur on the 31st ult. CHARLES J. GILLESPIE. Died, on Sunday the 30th of August at her residence near this place in the 36th year of her age, MRS. ANN LAVINIA EASON, consort of MAJOR WILLIAM EASON.... obligations of wife, mother, stepmother.... Left seven children, the youngest an infant about nine months old. (Huntsville, Sept. 6, 1835).
