November 8, 1836 Runaway slaves from POLLY REECE, 9 miles north of Fayetteville, Lincoln Co. Tenn. Land for sale: subscriber having purchased land in Mississippi and intending to emigrate thither, offers 157 acres near Brownsboro; if a physician would settle there will also dispose of my shop furniture and medicines. WILLIAM ANDERSON ARTHUR TRUSS has been appointed administrator of SAMUEL TRUSS (no county given). Advertisement: DANIEL SCOTT and DORCAS his wife emigrated many years ago from Caswell County, North Carolina to the western country, supposed to be in Alabama, Tennessee or Mississippi, if alive; DORCAS was formerly DORCAS CANNON; if they or their heirs will write ANN SCOTT, sister of DANIEL SCOTT at Danville, Virginia (she aged and infirm), it will be to their advantage (note: Probably estate to be settled). DR. WHITE of Benton County, Alabama leads to the altar as bride, MISS JANE NETTLE aged 15. He is about 89. November 15, 1836 Married on 30th ult. near Cross Roads by REV. J. B. CRAIG, DR. (DIGGES) HARRIS). Departed this life at % after 8 o'clock on evening of 4th inst of pulmonary disease, HNERY JORDAN in his 38th year--for many years a resident of this co. Died at Greensboro, Alabama on Sunday the 13th instant after a lingering illness MRS. MARY WILLIAMS, in the 58th year of her age, wife of MR. BENJAMIN M. WILLIAMS, formerly of Courtland and more recently a citizen of this place. December 6, 1836 From the Alabama Mercury we learn that the honorable SAMUEL W. MARDIS died at his residence in Talladega County on Monday the 14th 318 - (3618)
