Advertisement--On 5th of this month was felonously taken and carried off out of possession of PERMELIA CARTER of Jackson County Tennessee a slave...by RICHARD CARTER, about 34 years old...is expected to take slave to Arkansas or a southwestern state...to apprehend him will be an act of charity to a young woman who has neither mother nor father living to protect her. March 21 1837 Died in this place on the 12th instant, WILLIAM PHILLIPS son of MR. WILLIAM E. PHILLIPS. On the 16th inst. MRS. LANG, consort of MR. JAMES LANG of this place. MRS. LANG was originally from Richmond, Virginia and with her husband located in Huntsville at its early settlement...member of the M. E. Church. March 28, 1837 Departed this life on the 18th instant, JOHN HUNTER, after a protracted illness of some months.
