Died, on Tuesday the 7th instant at the residence of her mother in Marengo County, MRS. L. M. MAULDIN, consort of LITTLEBERRY MAULDIN, late of La Grange, North Alabama. ANOTHER REVOLUTIONARY SOLDIER GONE Departed this life at his residence in Madison County, Ala. on Monday November 20th, 1837 MR. ROBERT CLARK. He was bom in Halifax County, NC on the 23rd of February 1756. He had for the last twenty odd years been a resident of this county...an upright, a kind neighbor and affectionate parent. The Milledgeville (Ga) Journal and Nashville Republican Banner will confer a favor by giving the above an insertion. Died at the residence of S. J. HOUSE on the 22nd inst. MR. JOSEPH SAWYER at the advanced age of 101 years 8 months 11 days. MR. SAWYER was a native of Prague, Bohemia. He emigrated to the United States in the year 1776 during the Revolutionary Struggle in which he took an active part being attached to COL. WASHINGTON'S Cavalry. Beside several engagements of minor importance he was in the Battle of Eutaw Springs, SC. After the Revolution he returned to his native city on a visit. On his return to the United States he was seized by a press gang in London and placed on board a man of war where he remained three years. Through the agency of a smuggling vessel he made his escape to Holland, from thence he took passage to the United States. He emigrated to the state about fifteen years ago and remained in the county until his death. December 2, 1837 Married on Tuesday the 28th instant at the house of F. P. ROSE by the REV. J. H. GILLESPIE, A(LEX.) P. MORROW Esq. to MISS MARGARET S. BAPTIST, all of Morgsn County. The Raleigh NC papers please insert the above. Died, in Mobile on the 12th instant, JOHN C. Married on the 9th ult. by the REV. M. HUTCHINSON COL. JOHN B. WILLIAMSON to MRS. C. W. J. PETTWAY, all of this county (Vicksburg Register). Departed this life on the 9th instant MR. WILLIAM DIXON LANIER for many years a resident of this county; had not yet reached his 40th year; by accidental bursting of a gun in his hands; devoted husband and fond father. December 23, 1837 Married on the 13th instant by the REV. MR. WILLIAMS, MR. J. G. WALKER of Chulahoma, Mississippi to MISS AMANDA M. daughter of COL. DYE of Fayetteville. Married at the residence of MRS. BETTS in this county on the 20th instant by the REV. J. WILLIAMS, MR. JOHN JAMES LOCKHART of Tuscumbia, formerly of Northampton County, NC to MISS OCTAVIA F. daughter of the late CHARLES BETTS. See our Vol. 155 p. 21. Departed this life on the 14th instant MRS. ELMIRA CLOYD wife of J. P. CLOYD and daughter of MR. JAMES DRAKE, all of this co. Runaway slave committed to jail in Blount County; says belongs to WM. McMILON of Noxubee Co. Miss.
