February 11, 1846 Died on the 9th of January in New Orleans, RICHARD CLARKE aged 24, son of the late WILLIAM CLARKE of this county. February 18, 1846 (From Richmond Enquirer). Departed this life on the 24th of January at his residence, Alien's Creek, Hanover, CAPT. PHILIP WOODSON, SR. in his 79th year. Confined to his languishing bed and sickroom about two months previous to his dissolution... For about 15 years he was a zealous Christian, a Baptist... Left a widow with whom he lived for nearly 56 years. February 25, 1846 Married on the 19th at the residence of MR. JAMES LANDMAN by REV. JAMES W. ALLEN, MR. JOHN McQ. LYNCH (40 T) to MISS NANCY HATTON (37 NC), all of this county. (Vol. 155, p. 25) March 4, 1846 Died at the residence of her husband in this county on the night of the 18th after a painful and lingering illness...in her 39th year, MRS. AMELIA W. HOLDING, consort of MR. RICHARD HOLDING and daughter of CAPT. WILLIAM MARTIN.... Left bereaved companion and tender offspring. Triana. Feb. 23, 1846. Died of pneumonia Sunday morning the 22nd of Feb. at his residence in this county, JOHN ALLEN WAYLAND leaving a wife and child besides numerous friends and relatives. March 25, 1846 Married Monday evening the 16th by REV. RICHARD TALIAFERRO, COL. ABSALOM BROWN of Fayetteville, Tenn, to MRS. ELIZABETH E. HIGH of this county. April 29, 1846 Married Wednesday the 22nd by REV. MR. LAIRD, MR. HENRY C. CHAMBERS of Jackson, Miss, to MISS VIRGINIA, daughter of the late CAPT. CHARLES BETTS of this county. (vol. 141, p. 50) May 13, 1846 Departed this life on Sunday morning the 10th at the residence of his brother. WILLIAM POWERS near Huntsville, YANCEY POWERS after a protracted and painful illness of rheumatic affection of about 9 years, a greater portion of which time he was confined to his bed. Died in his 62nd year. We have known MR. POWERS from our boyhood, being natives of the same county (Goochland, Va.).... On leaving his native state, he located in Tennessee, where he remained a few years and from thence to Madison County, Ala. in 1818 where he continued to his death. Richmond Enquirer please copy. May 27, 1846 Died of cholera morbus after an illness of a few hours on Monday the 4th of May, GEORGE WILLIAM, oldest child of W. W. McCUTCHEN, Esq. aged 5 years 9 months. June 3, 1846 Married on the 31st in this county by P. B. ROBINSON, ALEXANDER J. COYLE of Arkansas to MRS. MARY ANN ACKLEN. (vol. 141, p. 51). June 10, 1846 Married on the 18th by REV. JOHN HAMER, MR. SAMUEL WOODRUFF (40 Va) to MISS MINERVA HARRISON (25 Marshall Co., Ala) both of this county. Married in Shelby County, Tenn, on the 26th by REV. J. WILLIAMS, MR. J. T. LOWRY of Marshall County, Alabama to MISS 0. E. ALLEN, daughter of the late MATTHEW ALLEN of Shelby Co. June 17, 1846 Information reached here on Monday morning last of the death of COL. JOHN R. H.
