May 19, 1847 Died in this county Friday the 14th inst. MARY BROOKS ROPER, daughter of WILLIAM M. and MARY ANN ROPER aged 2 years 5 months and 19 days. Died on April 27th of consumption in his 24th year, in New Orleans, SAMUEL A. LYNES, son of GEORGE LYNES formerly of Huntsville. His remains were attended to the Protestant burial grounds of Orleans by 5 lodges of the Society of Odd Fellows. It was hoped that his sojourn from Florida to New Orleans should have renovated his health.... May 26, 1847 Departed this life in Huntsville, Alabama on the 22nd instant, MARY BRANDON, consort of COL. WILLIAM BRANDON in her 63rd year. The deceased was born in Bucks County, Pennsylvania August 25, 1784 and was among the earliest settlers in Huntsville... Embraced religion 26 years ago, and was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Southern Advocate and Christian Advocate, Nashville copy. Died the 3rd of May at her residence in Chicot (he, not there in 1850) County, Arkansas in her 60th year, MRS. NANCY TAYLOR, wife of JUDGE JOHN M. TAYLOR and daughter of the late WILLIAM FOOTE of Fauquier County, Va. Died on April 30th last at the residence of JAMES SHROCKS, Leake Co. Miss., AMMON SANDERS, formerly of Jefferson Co. Ala. Died in Austin Co. Texas in February last, WILLIAM B. HORTON, son of JOHN B. HORTON of this county in his 27th year. Emigrated from this county to Texas in 1839. Died on the 18th in Lawrence County, Alabama, GEORGE T. SADLER, old and much esteemed citizen. Death seems to have made sad havoc in the family of ROBERT and ELMIRA FREEMAN of the vicinity of Lowesville, this county. They have lost three children whose deaths occurred within a few days of each other. On the 15th inst. their son ALDIGONDA died aged 3 years 9 months and 27 days. On the 16th, their son CLEMENT CLAY died aged 1 year 9 months and 4 days and on the 21st, ROBERT aged 7 years 6 months and 29 days died. Died on the 1st inst. aged about 50 years, HON. JESSE SPEIGHT, late U.S. Senator from Mississippi at his residence in Lowndes County, Miss . June 9, 1847 ‘ Married on the 1st inst. by P. B. ROBINSON, MR. JONATHON MAHEW to MRS. ELIZA A. M. STRONG, all of Madison County. (vol. 48 p. 19) Departed this life, MRS. NANCY H. SALE, wife of our esteemed citizen, CAPT. DUDLEY SALE on May 1st in her 58th year. Native of Elbert County, Georgia and has resided in this county to which CAPT. SALE was among the first settlers since 1815. Professed religion in 1823 and belonged to the Methodist Episcopal Church. She lived to have her husband and most or all of her children (6 of whom she left to mourn her loss) to unite with the church.... J. W. A. Charleston Advocate copy. In Chancery Court at Huntsville, May Term 1847. W. GRAVES BOULDIN versus JOSIAH W. MARSHALL et al. The defendant, JOSIAH W. MARSHALL resides in Lincoln Co. Tenn. Brief: Bill states that the complainant recovered a judgement in the Circuit Court of Madison Co. against JOSIAH W. MARSHALL on 23 October 1837. Said MARSHALL removed to Tennessee about the year 1837 and has no effects in Alabama of which said judgment can be satisfied. June 16, 1847 Departed this life in triumphs of Christina faith, MRS. ELIZABETH A. C. PARKER of Trenton, Ala. (Jackson Co.) in her 38th year. Belonged to the Cumberland Presbyterian Church several years, though she was deaf and dumb.
