June 30, 1847 In Chancery at Huntsville, May Term 1847 WILLIAM PARKER versus JOHN W. OTEY, JAMES W. HOWARD et al. Defendant JAMES W. HOWARD resides in Tenn, county unknown. Brief: Bill states that complainant and JAMES W. HOWARD about 1 April 1837 formed a partnership under the firm name of PARKER and HOWARD for the purpose of Buying and selling groceries. Partnership continued until 1839. Said HOWARD is one of the children and heirs at law of said deceased (who?). July 21, 1847 Died in this county on the 7th inst. THOMAS L. MOON aged 22 years and 16 days. July 28, 1847 Married Thursday evening the 22nd ult. by REV. JAMES C. ELLIOTT, MR. WM. M. DERRICK to MISS JANE D. KENNEDY, all of this county. (Vol. 133 p. 22)--------- Died in this place Friday evening the 23rd. WADDY TATE in his 20th year. Had resided several years in the capacity of clerk in mercantile establishments in our town. About 10 days before his decease, he was seized with bilious fever.... Died on the 24th inst. MRS. MOORE, wife of HUGH N. MOORE of this place. August 18, 1847 Departed this life, RANSOM FOWLKES. Born in Nottoway County Virginia October 9, 1798, emigrated to Madison Co. Ala. in 1817. Visited his native state in 1818 at which time he was married to CYNTHIA L. HAMBLEN of Prince Edward County, Virginia. Returned to Madison Co. Ala. in autumn of that year where he resided until the morning of August 5, 1847 when he died, of dropsy of the chest.... Left his wife and children. Banner of Peace, Lynchburg Virginian and Richmond Enquirer copy. Departed this life in Madison Co. of pulmonary consumption in the 67th year of her age, MRS. LYDIA BRAZELTON on June 22 last. She and her husband were among the first settlers to this country. Raised a large and respectable family of children, all of whom except one are professors of religion and belong to the Cumberland Presbyterian Church... Banner of Peace at Lebanon Tenn. copy. August 25, 1847 Departed this life August 12th at the residence of COL. BENJAMIN HARRISON of Limestone County, MRS. MARY ANN HARRISON, wife of said COL. BENJAMIN HARRISON in her 62nd year. Born in Brunswick County, Virginia in 1786. She has been greatly afflicted for many years. Has been a Methodist for many years. Was raised by religious parents. Left her husband and children to mourn her loss. Petersburg and Richmond Enquirer copy. Died in Huntsville on the 15th inst., MISS SARAH ANN GRAHAM, lacking only 4 days to complete her 18th year.... September 1, 1847 Married on the 19th inst. by REV. P. B. ROBINSON, MR. ALFRED ELLETT to MRS. RACHEL 0. CONNALLY (nee BEAL; she was widow cfJOHN), all of Madison Co. Ala. (vol. 119 p. 13) Married August 19th by REV. HENRY P. TURNER (vol. 100 p.U), MR. RICHARD G(RAVES) BOULDIN to MISS MARY JANE CAPSHAW, all of Madison Co. (dau of DAVID G. 22 Sept 1823, d 24 Dec. 1859; CAPSHAW by 2nd wife MARY McCRACKEN he d 10 Feb. 1860) Married on the 25th by REV. JAMES C. ELLIOTT, MR. ROWLAND C. STEWART of Mississippi to MISS VIRGINIA C., daughter of SAMUEL SMITHERS, Esq. of this county. (vol. 103 p. 65) Died at his residence in Madison County on the night of August 10th after 5 days illness, MR. RICHARD LIPSCOMB in his 47th year.... For 17 years a member of the Baptist Church....
