Departed this life on the 17th at his residence in Lauderdale County, JOHN DONOHO, Esq. Was once a citizen of Huntsville, but for the last 25 or 30 years has been a resident of the county in which he died. Was bom in East Tennessee (to PP) in 1785 and died after a lingering illness.... Died of paralysis on 21st of August last at his residence in Madison Co. Ala. WILLIAM EAST aged 71 years 5 months and 29 days. Born in Halifax Co. Va. February 23, 1776, emigrated from that state to Middle Tennessee in 1808 and thence to this county in 1809 where he resided until his death. Raised a large family.... Richmond and Petersburg Va. papers and Nashville, Tenn. copy. September 8, 1847 Married in Slough Beat, Limestone County, Alabama Thursday evening at 4 o'clock by REV. JAMES C. ELLIOTT, MR. WILLIAM H. MOORE (43 V), formerly of Sussex County, Virginia (vol. 187 d. 81) to MISS RUTH LODUSKIA LEWIS (23 A), formerly of Madison Co. Ala. At the residence of MR. A. H. FORD near this place on Wednesday morning, 1st instant by REV. S. S. MOODY, DR. WILLIAM W. HUMPHRIES of Columbus, Miss, to MISS REBECCA ANN JONES, daughter of CAPT. FRILEY JONES (vol. 147 p. 582; vol. 86 p. 30) Suicided in Goldsboro, N.C. R. A. HARRISON, just arrived from Tuscaloosa, Ala. It was supposed he had delirium tremens as he acted queer. September 15, 1847 Married Thursday evening last by REV. P. B. ROBINSON, COL. JOHN TROUP (41 SC) of Morgan County to MISS ELIZABETH J. E. FENNELL (32 A) of Madison Co. (vol. 151, p. 26) Departed this life on the 4th ult. MARY GEE, only child of JOEL W. and MARTHA C. JONES aged 2 years and 16 days. Departed this life August 31st at the residence of her brother-in-law, MR. JOSEPH HOBBS of Huntsville, MRS. FRANCES LEONARD, consort of MR. THOMAS D. LEONARD after a week's illness. Born in Pittsylvania Co. Va. When quite young she left her native state and removed with her brother-in-law, MR. THOMAS MARTIN, to Madison Co. Ala. where she resided until 1846 when she removed to Lawrence Co. Ala. with her husband and was on a visit to Huntsville to see her relatives when she died.... Baptist.... Left her husband and 3 small children to mourn her loss. Thus died FRANCES, daughter of WILLIAM H. IRBY. Tenn. Baptist and papers in Richmond copy. October 27, 1847 Died on March 15, 1847 at her residence in Madison Co., MARY BEVILL in her 84th year and on the 20th of September 1847, EDWARD BEVILL, SEN., her husband, died at the same place in his 88th year. They emigrated from Virginia to Mecklenburg Co. N.C. about 1805 and from there to this county about 1823. EDWARD BEVILL, SR. was a Revolutionary soldier and drew a pension at the time of his death.... December 15, 1847 State of Alabama--Madison County. Orphan's Court. November Term, 1847. SARAH LIGHTFOOT and MARY WESTMORELAND ) versus ) Petition to sell land CLAXTON LIGHTFOOT, ex'r. ) Petition of SARAH LIGHTFOOT and MARY WESTMORELAND, two of the heirs of CLACKSTON LIGHTFOOT, deceased for sale of land. REBECCA, wife of HARRISON HARTWELL, heir of CLACKSTON LIGHTFOOT, deceased, is a non-resident. February 9, 1848 (papers between Dec. 15 and Feb. 9 missing) Died at his residence in Madison Co. Ala. on the 28th inst. MR. MARCUS LAFAYETTE HIGH in about his 65th year, of pneumonia, leaving his widow and 7 children. Native of Wake County, North Carolina and moved to Madison Co. Ala. in the fall of 1843, where he resided until his death. The deceased served 12 months in the service of his country under ANDREW JACKSON in the Indian Wars and is believed to be a true patriot.... Raleigh, N.C. papers copy. 355 - (3655)
