(vol. 48 p. 19) Departed this life on Wednesday morning, 2nd inst. at her residence in Limestone County, MISS LOUISA COLEQUIT KEY in her 51st year. A lady of smooth disposition.... Member of Methodist Episcopal Church South.... January 12, 1848 Died at his residence near this village Sunday morning, December 26th in the 49th year of his age, MR. CALEB TONEY.... Left a wife and 5 children. Triana, Ala. Jan. 1, 1848. Died near Huntsville on the evening of the 25th of December, 1847. RODERICK GRAVETTE aged 39 years 9 months and 10 days. Born in Virginia March 15, 1808 but was principally raised in Madison County, Alabama where he left many friends, relatives, an affectionate wife and 8 little children.... On the 12th inst. by REV. G. A. COLLIER, MR. L(EONARD) F(ITE) LAMBERSON to MISS F(RANCES) C(ATHERINE) PICKENS, all of Madison Co. (vol. 155 p. 27) On the 20th ult. by REV. P. B. ROBINSON, MR. JAMES H. GREGORY to MISS INDIANA I. (J?) RUTHERFORD, all of Madison Co. (vol. 127 p. 2?) Death of a Soldier: A soldier by name of REUBEN McCANE belonging to CAPT. H. L. CLAY's Company, died in this place Tuesday the 28th inst. Brought to this place on a steamer, seriously indisposed and died on the bridge as he was being removed for medical aid. From papers in his possession, we learn he was a private in CAPT. CLAY's company, that he was honorably discharged at Vera Cruz on December 2 by reason of surgeon's certificate--inability. It furthermore appeared from his discharge that he was about 25 years of age and was born in Clarke County, Georgia. He was decently buried by our citizens. Ala. (vol. 122 p. 8) Departed this life on the 18th, COL. WILLIAM BRANDON in his 60th year. In 1810, the deceased emigrated from Tennessee to this state and became a resident of Huntsville, where he resided for more than 30 years. Amassed a large amount of the world's goods.... Methodist Episcopal Church. Left a large circle of friends and children. Nashville Christian Advocate copy. March 29, 1848 Married Thursday March 16th by REV. PROF. PENTLAND of La Grange College, DR. J. M. CONNER of Tuscumbia, Ala. to MISS MINERVA BIRD of Lawrence Co. Ala. (Franklin Democrat) (m. in Lawrence Co.) Died Friday the 3rd inst. at the residence of her husband in this county, MRS. ANN V. HAMMOND, daughter of MR. FRANCIS BLACKBURN and wife of MAJ. FERDINAND L. HAMMOND. Afflicted many weeks with a most painful disease.... Devoted wife and mother. Tuscaloosa and Houston (Tex.) papers copy. November 18, 1857 State of Alabama--Madison Co. ROBERT D. WILSON, next friend of HOUSTON LEE BELL and CHARLOTTE BELL, infant children of FRANCIS BELL late of said county, deceased.
