May 2, 1860 Married on the 24th ult. by REV. W. D. CHADICK, MR. J. H. KELLY to MISS VURGINIA A., daughter of GEN. JOHN N. DRAKE, all of this-county. Died, suddenly, of disease of the heart on the 9th ult., at his residence near Madison Cross Roads, MR. JOHN BAYLESS (70 V) in the 80th year of his age. MR. B. came from Washington County, East Tennessee to this county about the year 1810, where he has resided ever since... consistent member of the Baptist Church...left widow and large family of children. At the residence of her husband in Huntsville at 2 o'clock on the morning of the 1st of May, MRS. PALMYRA JANE COLEMAN, wife of JOHN J. COLEMAN, Esq. in the 38th year of her age. May 9, 1860 Married on the 1st instant at the residence of J. W. HOLT by MR. ROBERT P. RIDDLE, MR. N. J. MEADOWS to MISS MARY F. HOLT, all of Limestone County. On the 3rd instant at the residence of the bride's father, COL. C. W. PRICE, by REV. DR. E. SAMMS, REV. R. M. HUMPHREY to MISS MATTIE A. PRICE (10 A; CHAS W.), all of Morgan County. Died last night, suddenly, MR. WILLIAM WEAVER (43 T), a well known cabinet maker of this place, aged 53 years. May 23, 1860 MarrieH on the 9th instant by REV. THOMAS J. DAVIDSON, HON. ALBURTO MARTIN to MISS HARRIET L., daughter of HON. WM. S. MUDD, all of Elyton. Died, on the 14th instant, MRS. ELIZABETH WESSON (77 V) after a very short illness. She was born in Brunswick County, Virginia in the year 1776 and removed to Madison County Alabama in 1819. She joined the Methodist Episcopal denomination at a very early age and remained in it, a consistent Christian, until the time of her death. At his residence, Mountain Home (Lawrence Co.?), Ala. on the 6th instant, after a long and painful illness, MR. PHILIP POINTER (44 Va.; Lawrence Co.) in the 55th year of his age. Near Whitesburg, Ala. on the 21st instant, JOHN MORRIS (70 NC), SR., in his 80th year. May 30, 1860 Married on the 23rd instant by REV. DR. ROSS, MR. B(ALTHAZAR) TARDY of Mobile to MISS MARY R(OROZIE) SPOTSWOOD (ELLIOTT) of this city. (g-parents of MATTHEWS TARDY, & of LILIAN ROSE CHOCHRAN & MARY BURTON HALE) Died on the 23rd instant in Huntsville, MRS. CATHERINE McDANIEL, aged 75 years. June 6, 1860 Married on the 23rd ult. at the residence of 0. KING, Esq., the bride's father, COL. GEORGE C. HUBBARD to MISS MAGGIE KING, both of Lawrence Co. On the 3rd ult. in the Cumberland Presbyterian Church by REV. WM. CHADICK, JOHN JORDAN, Esq. of Marshall Co. to MISS NANNIE BENDLE of Huntsville, Ala. Died on the 29th ult. MR. WILLIAM IRWIN (52 Va; ERWIN in census), aged 69 years, an old and respected citizen of Athens, Ala. June 13, I860 Married on the 30th ult. at the residence of the bride's father, REV. WILLIAM C. WALKER, MR. WILLIAM S. BLAIR (15 A; JOHN S.) of Limestone County to MISS P. C. WILLIAMS, of Lauderdale County. On the 5th instant in Courtland by REV. J. H. LORAM MR. D(ANIEL) B(EAUFONT) CAMPBELL of Augusta, Ga. to MISS KATE F(RANCES) JAMES (12 A) of Courtland. (dau of WESTWOOD WALLACE JAMES & CATHARINE CONWAY WALLACE) On the 27th ult. at the residence of THOMAS JOHNSON by WILLIS IRELAND, Esq., MR. WILLIAM JOHNSON to MISS MARGARET LAFEVERS (16 Ky; GILLUM) , all of Lawrence County. Died, on the 4th instant at the residence of GEN. THOMAS M. MOSELEY, MR.
