On the 19th instant by REV. WM. CHASTAIN, MR. WILLIAM YOUNG to MISS NANCY JONES, all of this county. October 3, I860 Killed--We learn that a difficulty took place in Fayetteville, Tenn, on Saturday night the 29th ult. between JAMESM. DAVIDSON, Esq. and MR. JAMES B. CARTY, in which the former was killed by three pistol shots. MR. DAVIDSON formerly resided here where he has many friends. He was a man of fine culture and much ability. He leaves an interesting family. Fratricide. We learn with sorrow that yesterday on his father's plantation, REUBEN G. VINCENT, a youth of about 18 or 20, shot and killed his brother, JOHN, 22 or 23 years old. We have not ascertained the provocation. They are sons of our resnected fellow citizen CLEMENT VINCENT. Married, on the 21st instant at the residence of M. J. WARREN, Esq. by the REV. DR. MITCHELL, MR. JOSEPH MILNER of Florence to MISS MARGARET A. WOODALL of Tuscumbia. In Mooresville at the residence of the bride's brother on the 27th ult. by REV. MR. HENSLEY, MR. JOHN H. GAMBLE (11 A; JAS. H.) to MISS FANNIE E. SMITH. On the 27th ult. at the residence of M. C. SMITH, Esq. by REV. F. A. KIMBELL, MR. ED. N. G. KIMBELL to MISS ADA H. SMITH, all of Mooresville. On the 27th ult. by REV. D. K. HUNTER, MR. JOHN W. BROWN to MISS MARY E. SADDLER (10 A; WM. H.), both of this county. Died, R(EBECCA) M. M. NANCE (18 A), daughter of JAS. and SALLY M. WILBURN (59 V), was born Sept. 10, 1830, married to B. R. NANCE December 1, 1859, died September 5, 1860. October 17, 1860 Married, on the 2nd instant by W. A. HOOD, Esq., R. O. HENSHAW to MISS ISABELLA JANE REED (10 A; ALEX H), all of Jackson County. On the 3rd instant by the REV. JOSEPHUS SHACKELFORD, WM. F. McKELVEY, Esq., to MISS KITTY E. ALEXANDER, all of Lawrence County. On the 4th instant by REV. J. TURRENTINE, MR. WILLIAM R. CALVIN (d 1868 m. 31 yr; 13 A; THOS) to MISS MARY JANE MOORE, all of Limestone County. On the 23rd ult. by REV. A. R. WATSON, JOHN R. GAMBLE to MISS M. L. HANBY, both of Walker County. On the 10th instant at the Presbyterian Church by REV. F. A. ROSS, MR. JAMES W. ATKISSON of Knoxville Tenn, to MISS FANNIE M. PEEBLES of Philadelphia, Pa. Knoxville and Philadelphia papers please copy. Died on the 4th instant MR. AB. H. THURSTON, aged about 40 years. On the 6th instant MRS. ELIZABETH JUDE (1788-1860 w of GEO 1786-1872) aged 79 years. On the 8th instant JOHN R. B. JOHNSON, Esq. (55 V) aged 66 years. October 24, 1860 Advertisement of the Crutchfield House, Chattanooga, Tenn. (Hotel) "In consequence of the death of my brother in law and partner, the late JOHN H. LUMPKIN of Georgia...." TOM CRUTCHFIELD. Died on the 19th instant at her residence near Meridianville in this county, after a long and protracted illness, MRS. ELIZA E. POPE (40 V), relict of the late BENJAMIN S. POPE, in the 60th year of her age--for many years a member of the Methodist Church. November 7, 1860 Homicide. At Guntersville on election day JAMES CRITCHER, ex-member of the Alabama Legislature shot and killed instantly a young man named DAVENPORT, son in law of S. K. RAYBURN, well known Circuit Clerk of Marshall County. We understand there was an old grudge between them. November 14, 1860 Married, on the 1st instant by REV. J. D. BARBEE, MR. ISAAC WHEATLY of Holly Springs, Miss, to MISS ELIZABETH THOMAS of Tuscumbia. In Moulton on the 6th instant by REV. JOS. SHACKELFORD, MR. JOHN N. CRADDOCK of Tuscumbia to MISS LUCY W. OWEN of the former place. On the 8th instant by the REV. W. G. HENSLEY, MR. ROBERT N. MALONE to MRS. ANN E. MALONE, all of Athens. 366 - (3666)
