On the 23rd ult. at the residence of MILTON R. BRASSFIELD near Forkland, Greene County, Ala. by the REV. J. W. (J. C. in newspaper), MISS MARY A. HARRIS to MR. WM. A. SORSBY, all of Greene County.' Died on the 7th instant, MRS. ELIZABETH ATKINS (is this 29 A, w of JOSEPH?), of consumption after a long and painful illness. The deceased united with the Baptist Church in 1854, at Mt. Zion, Madison County, Alabama. She adorned all the relations of life--as a Christian sincere and devoted, as a wife kind and affectionate, and to her children a mother indeed. E.S. November 21, 1860 Married on the 14th instant by the REV. F. A. KIMBELL, MR. WILLIAM SPRAGUE to MISS SUSAN T. (9 A), eldest daughter of REV. P(LEASANT) B. ROBINSON (45 T) all of this city. On the 14t'n instant by the REV. MR. BARBER in Tuscumbia, MR. JOHN GOODWIN of Aberdeen, Mississippi to MISS SARAH A. COOPER (9), daughter of WM. COOPER, Esq. (48 T) of Tuscumbia. In Nashville, Tenn, at the residence of the bride's father by the REV. DR. HOWELL, MR. P. LINDSLEY NICHOL to MISS SUE M. SHAFFER. Died on the 16th instant, ANNIE EMERY RUCKMAN, daughter of MRS. MARY C. RUCKMAN of the Huntsville Female College in her 5th year. On the 5th instant at his father's residence in Madison County, Ala. RICHARD MARION MARTIN (21 A), son of RICHARD (60 V) and LYDIA (55 V) MARTIN, aged 32 years. November 28 I860 Married on Tuesday the 30th instant in Tuscaloosa Mississippi by REV. S. W. MOORE, DR. W. T. THATCH of Limestone County, Ala. to MISS CATHERINE GIRAULT. On the 14th instant by the REV. W. H. ADAMS, MR. ROBERT RUSSELL to MISS ELLA MORRISON (ELLEN in cen; 7 A; JOHN A. or N?), all of Bellefonte. By the REV. W. H. BALDRIDGE, MR. JAMES G. DEMENT (16 A?) of Limestone County to MISS ELIZA JANE (8 A), daughter of HODGE L. STEPHENSON, Esq. (47 T) of Lawrence County. Died suddenly on the 26th, WILLIAM MURPHY of this place aged about 35 years. November 18, 1860. CAPT. THOMAS GREEN (48 NC) in the 59th year 'of his age. CAPT. GREEN at the time of his death was contractor for carrying the U.S. Mail between Tuscaloosa and Courtland, Ala. and will be greatly missed by the country as well as by his family and friends. At Hopston, Yates Co. N.Y., on the 9th instant, MRS. ANN CARY, wife of ABRAHAM DOX, Esq. and eldest and last surviving daughter of the late HON. JOHN NICHOLAS, in the 68th year of her age. She was a native of Virginia and for more than 50 years a communicant of the Protestant Episcopal Church. December 19, 1860 Married on the 11th instant by REV. J. SHACKELFORD, DR. A(UGUSTIN) J(ENKUIS) JENNINGS (23 A) to MISS JULIA BLASSINGAME (8 A; ROBT), all of Lawrence County. On the 16th instaiit by REV. F. A. KIMBELL, MR. ROBERT BAILEY to MISS ELIZABETH MOORE, all of this city. Died on the 9th instant MRS. NANCY ABLES (46 T) aged 58 years; she was born in South Carolina, married in Tennessee in 1820 and came to Madison County in 1821, where she resided in Huntsville till her death--lived and labored for her children. January 16, 1861 Resolutions of Respect, Church of the Nativity, Huntsville, signed by J. M. BANISTER, rector, on the death of REV. NICHOLAS HAMNER COBBS, D.D., Bishop of the Diocese of Alabama who died at his residence in Montgomery, Ala. on Friday last January 11. February 13, 1861 Married on the 29th ult. in Decatur Ala. by REV. F. P. SCRUGGS, MR. THOMAS A. TAYLOR of Chickasaw, Ala. to ANNIE LEDINGHAM (9 A; WM.) of Decatur. 367 - (3667)
