Died, in Huntsville on the 16th instant JOSEPH W., second son of J. W. and MARY HOBBS, aged 2 years, 5 months. At her residence near Stevenson, Ala. on the 7th of March, MRS. JANE M. GRIFFIN, consort of P. G. GRIFFIN. On the 28th ult. at his residence in Morgan County REV. THOMAS A. STRAIN (49 V), in the 62nd year of his age. April 10, 1861 Resolutions by teachers and pupils of the Sunday School of the West Huntsville Station on the death of Superintendent T. C. HAMBRICK (24 A), who died on the 4th instant. RAYBURN (37 T) of Guntersville to MRS. EVERGREEN FINLEY (29 A; nee RAINEY--she m. 1836 SAM'L FINDLEY) Died, on the 18th instant at his residence in this county, DAVID WADE, SR. (66 V) in his 78th year. On the 22nd instant MRS. RUTH GARNER, relict of MR. JOHN GARNER in the 76th year of her age--had been a member of the Methodist Church 60 years. June 12, 1861 Died at his residence in the Northeastern portion of the county on the 28th of May, 1861, WILLIAM POWER (70 SC) aged about 85 years. June 26, 1861 Died on the 18th instant at Easley's Hotel in this city of consumption MAJOR THOMAS W. STATON (33 T) aged about 50 years, a citizen of Blount County and for some years a Senator in the Alabama Legislature. Married on the 11th instant at the residence of the bride's father HON. W. T. HAWKINS by REV. DR. RIVERS, MR. H. M. WELLS to MISS MARY HAWKINS of Florence, Ala. July 3, 1861 Married on the 18th instant by the REV. MR. ALLGOOD at the residence of the bride's father MR. JOHN P. CRUMP (9 A; WM.) to MISS MARTHA J. MURPHREE, all of Blount County. On the 17th instant by S. M. THITT, Esq. at the residence of the bride's mother in DeKalb Co. Ala. MR. A. M. August 7, 1861 From the Nashville Union: Obituary--JAMES CAMP TURNER (12 A) of Huntsville, Ala. (son of CAPTAIN DANIEL D. TURNER (see m. VOL V p. 5; 49 V) and grandson of MAJOR ROBERT SEARCY, dec'd, one of GENERAL JACKSON's aides in the Creek War) was shot through the heart at Manassas. August 28, 1861 Married on the 18th instant by REV. H. P. TURNER, MR. W. S. PHILLIPS to MISS SUSAN F., daughter of MR. ED D. HUMPHREY all of this county. September 4, 1861 Died near Cookeville (Noxubee Co.), Miss. August 10 MRS. VIRGINIA C. BEALLE, wife of MR. JOHN R. BEALLE of Mississippi, and daughter of COL. JOHN D. KING (55 V) of Madison County, Ala. She was a woman of admirable traits of Christianity, beloved by many friends in this vicinity. 369 - (3669)
