GEORGE T. ANDERSON (7 A), eldest son of GEORGE ANDERSON (44 V) of this county was killed at the Battle of Stone Bridge on Sunday the 21st in his 18th year. September 18, 1861 Married on the 15th of August LT. THOMAS B. HILLS (son of ARCH'D E. & ALMIRA (BIBB) MILLS, gs of GOV. THOS BIBB) of the Confederate States Army to MISS CARRIE S. GOODWIN (9 A), daughter of DR. A. G. GOODWIN (42 SC) of Autauga County. Died at Mt. Hope, Ala. September 1st RUFUS McVAY of typhoid fever. September 25, 1861 , Died near Courtland, Ala. on the 11th of Sept., MRS. JANE S. ELGIN ASHFORD (53 K), wife of THOMAS ASHFORD (59 V), Esq. in her 65th year. Married, on the 10th instant by N. J. CARTER, Esq., MR. J. RUSSELL NOBLE (11 A) to MISS REBECCA JANE WILSHER (6 A; JOHN D.) of Marshall County. October 9, 1861 Died, on the 3rd instant, MRS. LUCY D. TERRY (32 T) of this place. On the 2nd instant ALEXANDER MILLER, of consumption. October 23, 1861 Departed this life at his residence in Phillips Co., Ark. on the 29th ult. COL. ROBERT FREEMAN (41 NC), formerly of this county, of congestion of the stomach. COL. FREEMAN was bom in Warren County, N.C. in the year 1809, and moved to Madison County, Alabama in his youth, where he lived for many years. He removed to the West in the spring of 1860, where he died leaving a large circle of relatives and friends to mourn his loss. "He leaves a grief stricken family." October 30, 1861 Married on the 23rd instant at the residence of DR. H. A. BINFORD in this city by REV. J. R. PLUMMER, MR. J. HALL, Esq. of Harrison Co. Texas to MRS. JULIA A. HAUGHTON, daughter of the late THOMAS BRANDON of Aberdeen, Mississippi. Died. October 12, MRS. SARAH TROTMAN (b May 8, 1824), wife of DR. THOMAS TROTMAN (b Jan 8, 1822, d. Mar. 18, 1855). (she was SARAH CATH. FARLEY, % sis of MICHAEL FARLEY; she m. DR. THOS BARBEE TROTMAN) On the 9th instant of typhoid fever, MR. WM. M. GOOCH (39 V), aged about 50 years. He leaves an interesting family. In Bellefonte, Alabama, on the 6th instant DR. WILLIAM 0. HAYNES (47 V), aged about 60 years. November 6, 1861 Died at his residence in Lawrence County on Tuesday the 20th of October, PAUL J. WATKINS (35 (55) G), Esq., aged 66 years less 5 days. In Madison County, Ala. on October 12 of typhoid fever, MRS. RACHEL E. SPRINGER (38 T), wife of JOSIAH SPRINGER (41 T), aged 50 years 8 months 1 day. She was bom in the State of North Carolina March 11, 1811. She leaves a husband and many friends. In Memphis on the 28th ult. JAMES R. MALTBIE, Esq. for many years a citizen of Huntsville. November 13, 1861 Died on Monday night November 11th at the residence of his mother-in-law, MRS. PICKETT near Mooresville, MR. THOMAS BIBB in his 51st year. December 4, 1861 Died on the 30th ult. at her residence in this place, MRS. LUCY A. M. HORTON (44 V; dau of WALTER OTEY), relict of the late RODAH HORTON. December 25, 1861 Died at the residence of her husband, "Woodgreen" near Huntsville Ala. December 19, 1861, aged 46 years, MRS. MARY WOODSON WITHERS (34 V), wife of COL. AUGUSTINE J. WITHERS (44 V), and only daughter of PHILIP WOODSON, Esq. 370 - (3670)
