April 15, 1874 (1875) It is our painful duty to announce the death of DR. HENRY A. BINFORD. April 22, 1874 (1875) Died at New Market, Alabama on the 22 March, 1875, MISS ANGIE HAMBRICK. (For other notes from 1875 numbers of "The Democrat" see Volume XLII.) January 7, 1875 Died in New York City January 4th, 1875 MRS. FELICIA CHAPMAN HUBARD, daughter of ex-Governor REUBEN CHAPMAN and wife of BOLING HUBARD, Esq., who had only recently settled in New York to practice his profession, the law. Left an infant daughter. January 14, 1875 Tribute of respect, Hazel Green Grange #251, Patrons of Husbandry--to Worthy Master and Brother, JOHN B. CORN who died the 3rd of January, 1875. May 20 1875 Died near Huntsville, Alabama, Thursday May 13, 1875, MRS. CAROLINE MATILDA McCALLEY, wife of THOMAS S. McCALLEY in her 55th year. MRS. McCALLEY was a daughter of the late ROBERT LANFORD and was born and reared in this county and in 1838 she married MR. McCALLEY. Selfsacrificing mother and wife, pious and devout Christian. May 27, 1875 Died on the 28th of April last in the 73rd year of his age at the residence of his son, JOHN M. TATE in Phillips County, Arkansas, ABNER TATE, who was for many years a prominent citizen of northern part of this (Madison) County, where he continually resided from early boyhood until the year 1863. He was bom in Logan County, Kentucky in 1802. His parents were among the early settlers of Hazlegreen district. He survived his wife, who died in 1859, and all his children except two sons. July 22, 1875 Died of paralysis at the residence of his daughter, MRS. SIBLEY in Madison County, Alabama, MR. MILLS JENKINS, who was bom January 13, 1805 and died June 30, 1875 aged 70 years 3 months and 13 days. Leaves wife and large circle of relatives and friends. July 29 1875 Tribute of respect, Oliver Lodge #280 S.O.C.T., New Market--JAMES C. DAVIS who died July 24th. July 29, 1875 MRS. SUSAN CAIN KNOX died at the residence of her son-in-law, JOHN T. PATTERSON July 26, 1875 aged 77. Bom in Petersburg, Virginia July 26, 1798, moved to Knoxville, Tennessee 1816 thence to this city in 1818. Member of the Methodist Episcopal Church until 1840, then joined the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. August 5, 1875 Death of MR. LUKE MATTHEWS. This old and highly respectable citizen of Huntsville died at his residence on Sunday night last. Born in Campbell County, Virginia September 10, 1796. He settled in Limestone County, Alabama in 1824. He married MISS JUDITH E. PEETE March 8, 1826 and by her had 8 children. She died and on January 26, 1843, he married MISS LUCY ANN SPOTSWOOD by whom he had 8 children. He removed from Limestone Co. to Madison Co. in 1846. He was a soldier of the War of 1812. August 11 1875 Resolutions of respect by Oliver Lodge #280--death of our beloved brother, JAMES C. DAVIS, who died at his home in New Market July 24th. 372 - (3672)
