August 25, 1875 Died at the residence of his brother-in-law, DR. PULLIAM in La Grange, Tennessee, August 21, 1875, ALGERNON S. BEASLEY in his 22nd year, son of DR. JAMES A. BEASLEY of Huntsville, Ala. October 6, 1875 Died in Huntsville, Alabama September 24, 1875, MRS. ANNIE BUSSEY, wife of REV. MR. BUSSEY of the Baptist Church. Her remains were taken to Columbus, Georgia. November 3, 1875 Died last night, November 2nd at about 9 o'clock, COL. NICHOLAS DAVIS at his residence in this city after about a week's illness with Typo-malarial fever in his 52nd year. He was a man of more than ordinary ability as a popular orator and made his mark as an advocate. He has been a state soldier, member of the state legislature, delegate to Secession Convention, member of Provisional Congress. Leaves a widow, 3 sons and a daughter. November 3, 1875 Died in Phillips County, Arkansas, September 21, 1875, D(ANIEL) H. SEVERS, an old citizen of this county, aged 73. Died at his residence in Holmes County, Mississippi October 18, 1875 of chronic diarrhea, WILLIAM C. BINFORD, formerly a resident of this county, a faithful husband and father. November 10, 1875 MRS. SHACKLEFORD, the venerable widow of DR. JACK SHACKLEFORD of Texas fame and mother of MAJ. W. V. CHARDAVOYNE died recently near Courtland aged 66 years. (Lawrence Co.) December 1, 1875 Resolutions of respect by Ebenezer Grange Lodge #503 on death of W. C. BINFORD, who died on the 18th at the residence near Ebenezer, Holmes County, Mississippi aged 48 years. He leaves a bereaved family. Died at his residence in Leake County, Mississippi about the 1st of October last, WILLIAM M. ELDRIDGE, formerly of this county. Died at his residence in this county November 27, 1875, GEORGE WHITFIELD DRAKE, an old and respectable citizen, having nearly completed his 62nd year. He was born and reared in this county. Affectionate husband and father. December 22, 1875 Obituary: JULIA HUTTON (should be HATTON) was born in North Carolina about 1799, emigrated to Alabama in early life with her parents and located in Madison County; was united in marriage to JAMES LANDMAN June 6, 1835 and died November 27, 1875 aged 76 years. Good wife, affectionate mother, kind neighbor. Died in Huntsville this morning (December 22nd) at about half past 2 o'clock, MRS. MATTIE LEE STEVENS, wife of MAJ. J. R. STEVENS and daughter of the late DR. CHARLES H. PATTON aged 32. July 27, 1877 We regret to note the death of two estimable ladies of Madison, MRS. THOMAS CAIN aged 40, and MRS. SARAH FARLEY, in her 81st year. Also MAJOR ARTHUR C. BEARD (40 K) who died Wednesday the 17th instant at Guntersville; he was well known as Commissary of old 4t'n Alabama Regiment. January 9, 1878 Died after an illness of severest suffering lasting nearly 5 years, MRS. ANN HARDIN, only daughter of REV. HENRY P. TURNER and wife of MR. BENJ. L. HARDIN. Departed this life at family residence in this county on 31 December 1877. She was born Nov. 2, 1839, joined the Methodist Church in September 1850 and was married 22 Feb. 1866. She leaves two interesting children, a son and a daughter too young to realize the irreparable loss of an affectionate mother....
