In the vicinity of Huntsville, tombstone says May 14, May 13, of bladder disease, MR. ALFRED H. ELLETT aged over 70. Had been a highly esteemed citizen of Madison Co. for many years. Leaves a family and numerous friends. May 22 1878 Married at residence of W. A. BLAIR in Huntsville May 22 by the grandfather of the groom, REV. BENJAMIN GRAVES, MR. JAMES H. MAYHEW to MISS MAY L. FRENCH.... Died near Triana, May 21, MRS. ELIZABETH M. COLLIER, wife of CHARLES E. COLLIER, SR. Bom Dec. 16, 1812. Member of Christian Church.... May 29, 1878 Died at residence of her father-in-law, THOMAS W. WHITE in Huntsville, May 27 after less than a week's illness, MRS. MARIA WITHERS WHITE, wife of DR. ALEX'R. L. WHITE and daughter of the late AUGUSTINE J. WITHERS in her 27th year. June 19, 1878 Died at residence of his son-in-law, S. J. MAYHEW, in Huntsville, June 17, June 16 tombstone says, REV. BENJAMIN GRAVES nearly 82 years old. Born in N.Y. and went to Ohio in early life and resided there till 1870 when he came to Huntsville to live with his daughter, MRS. MAYHEW. Licensed as a Presbyterian minister 1842 and preached the Gospel 54 years. (Tombstone says b. July 4, 1796) Married on Thursday June 13 at 10:15 a.m. in Methodist Church, Huntsville, by REV. G. W. F. PRICE, MR. HENRY ADAMS of Tuskegee to MISS IDA WHITEHURST of Huntsville. At same time and place by same, both of Huntsville, LAWRENCE COOPER, Esq., MISS ELIZA PRICE. June 26, 1878 Married June 12 in Big Cove by JUSTICE ALLEN, MR. SAMUEL WEB to MISS DICEY TUCK, youngest daughter of HENRY TUCK. Died at his residence near Seneca Lake, N.Y. June 13, JOHN NICHOLAS DOX, twin brother of HON. P(ETER) M(YNERT) DOX. (latter b. Sept. 11, 1813, Genero, N.Y.; d. Apr. 3, 1891, his son ABRAHAM & (MISS NICHOLAS) DOX; grandson JOHN NICHOLAS (Owen's III, p. 504). In this city June 25. HARRY CHRISTO son of DR. and MRS. C. A. ROBINSON, aged about 18 mo. old. July 3, 1878 Died at Wood's Mill June 27 of malarial fever A. J. WOOD aged about 60 yrs. old and useful citizen.... In this city June 27 after a long suffering with chronic rheumatism, JOHN F. ADAY aged probably 65. Pump maker by trade.... July 17, 1878 Died in Huntsville Tue. night July 16 of pulmonary consumption after a few months illness, MRS. FANNIE MASTIN, daughter of the late THEOPHILUS LACY and wife of WILLIAM J. MASTIN in her 27th year. State News Regret the death of HENRY W. KIMBALL (35 NC), an old and respectable citizen of Limestone from pneumonia near Mooresville July 6. (married 1840 ANN ELIZA GAMBLE. CAPT. ARTHUR H(ENLEY) KELLAR, Editor of Tuscumbia North Alabamian, was married in Memphis July 1 to MISS KATE ADAMS, daughter of HON. CHARLES ADAMS of that city. (note: Parents of HELEN KELLER) August 7 1878 Died at residence of DR. J. P. HAMPTON, near Meridianville, Ala. Aug. 2, 1878 EMMA MAY, infant daughter of R. V. and MARGARET HORTON of Limestone Co. Ala. aged 9 mo. 13 days. August 14, 1878 Died at Memphis, Tenn. July 31 of congestive fever, FREDERICK 0. SHAUDIES, JR. son of MR. F. 0. SHAUDIES of Huntsville aged 23. Estimable young man, sober, industrious, frugal and honest. Left a wife and child. Body was brought to Huntsville for burial. 376 - (3676)
