AUSTON, son of the late JOHN H. AUSTIN of Decatur, is a practicing attorney in Washington City. MRS. MARYLAND HENRY, wife of the late postmaster of Decatur, who died of yellow fever, has been commissioned to take charge of the Decatur post office. December 12, 1878 MR. CREED L. TAYLOR an old and respected citizen of Marshall County was adjudged insane last Monday and ordered sent to the asylum at Tuscaloosa. MR. TAYLOR was for many years a citizen of this county. MR. W. B. TAYLOR, who went to Texas from the Paint Rock Valley, is dead. CHARLES G. ROSS, son of DR. F. A. ROSS, was admitted to the practice of law. Died at his residence near Russellville, Alabama 5th November 1878 DR. FREDERICK H. ANDERSON in her 76th year. In Memoriam, MARY ELIZABETH NEWMAN, wife of the late DR. FRANCIS H. NEWMAN, was born in Hanover County, Virginia September 17, 1817 and died in Huntsville, Alabama December 19, 1878. The deceased was one of the only two children raised, both the same age, of CAPT. WILLIAM POWERS, who served his country in the War of 1812. The deceased came to Alabama in infancy, married young, and shortly after connected herself with the Methodist Church. She was the mother of thirteen children of whom there are eleven surviving. 386 - (3686)
