January 29, 1890 A letter was received in Atlanta Friday stating that MRS. BANKS WINTER was thought to be dying in Montreal with gripps. She went only a short time ago with her babe to join MR. WINTER. She was born and reared (in Huntsville.) February 3, 1890 In Memoriam. MRS. MARGARET GRAYSON was born February 18, 1841 and died January 30, 1890. She was a member of the Methodist Church from her youth up. She left an affectionate husband, three children, a sister and three brothers. "A Niece." (Is this MRS. N. B. GRAYSON, shown in the book of death certificates as died January 29th aged 40?) February 12 1890 MR) ISHAM H. HOBBS died at his home near this city Monday at the advanced age of 75 years. His death was caused by paralysis. In the death of MR. HOBBS our county loses a time honored citizen, the Methodist Church a valuable and consistent member and his family a fond husband and a loving father. Wedding account. February 15, 1890 at the residence of MR. A. A. BAKER, father of the bride, MR. JAMES M. LOVETT to MISS EMMA MAI BAKER, Prof. J. A. B. LOVETT, assisted by DR. A. B. JONES officiating. The groom is the junior partner in the firm of J. A. B. LOVETT & Son. February 18, 1890 COL. R. R. TOWNS (died) at Athens Sunday. He was a brother-in-law of HON. C. P. LANE of this city. Died, Thursday night, MR. JOHN R. SISK, aged 48. Friday night. MRS. JANE W. REEDY, aged 74, a lifelong member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Her children will keenly feel their loss. Copy of the memorial address, DR. GEORGE D. MORRIS, at his burial, February 14th. DR. GEORGE D. NORRIS was born at Baltimore, Maryland October 25, 1811 and died February 12, 1890 aged 78 years, 3 months and 17 days. He graduated at Yale in 1829 in a class of 20, graduated in medicine at the University of Maryland in 1831, and in 1832 came to New Market and married MISS MARTHA W. RAGSDALE in 1833, and second to MISS LUCRETIA J. MARTIN in 1864 who is left to mourn her loss. He was a Trustee of the Alabama Insane Asylum up to his death...an enthusiastic member of the Order of Free and Accepted Masons, taking 33 degrees, twice Grand Master of the State of Alabama and Representative of the Grand Lodge of England, commissioned by the Prince of Wales. He professed religion in 1841 and became an organic member of the New Market Baptist Church in 1847. He left a wife and children. February 26, 1890 Obituary. JOHN W. McGAHA, son of JAMES M. and CAROLINE R. McGAHA bom December 22, 1868. March 5, 1890 Resolutions of Respect, MRS. M. A. CAREY, by the Mission Sunday School. MR. JOHN M. McMULLEN died at his home in Meridianville March 2nd... one of the oldest residents of the county. He had reached the advanced age of four score. A member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church... buried in the family burying ground near Meridianville. There is a letter in the Madison (Missouri) Advance, written by HON. W. S. MILLER, bom in Triana 74 years ago. JUDGE and MRS. MILLER were in Huntsville recently. He moved from this county when only ten years old. March 12, 1890 In Memoriam. ISHAM H. HOBBS (son of JOBN; 36 in Virginia) was born in Virginia October 22, 1814 and died in Huntsville February 10, 1890. MR. HOBBS moved to Alabama at an early age and spent the greater part of his life in or near Huntsville. He was married twice, first to MISS SUSAN S. SANDIDGE (25 in Georgia; daughter of GARRETT), August 24, 1841. His second wife, who survives him was MISS ELLEN PARKER, to whom he was married April 14, 1872.
