April 2, 1890 On Thursday, March 20th, at the residence of the parents of the bride, MR. and MRS. J. HENRY LANDMAN, MR. GORDON C. GREENFIELD of Pine Bluff, Arkansas (was married) to MISS LIZZIE W. LANDMAN. Died, MRS. A. M. NAIL, Monday, at her residence in Big Cove. She was a sister-in-law of MR. J. W. POTTS, Tax Collector. April 9, 1890 In Memoriam. Died at his home in Madison County, February 24, 1890 MR. J. M. KING, at a ripe old age. He was born and reared near the place where he died; he was in his 74th year. He gave much good advice, even to his grandchildren, exhorting them to live like Christians.... R. A. THOMPSON April 16 1890 At 1 o'clock Thursday, at the residence of his brother and sister, MR. and MRS. GEO. W. HUNT, MR. WILLIAM RICE breathed his last at the age of 90 years. He was born near Nashville, Tennessee March 18, 1800, a son of JOEL L. and ELIZABETH RICE, and one of sixteen children, only two of whom survive him, MRS. GEO. W. HUNT of this city and MR. A. J. RICE of Florida. The funeral took place Friday morning, conducted by REV. J. H. BRYSON, D.D. (Death certificate; WILLIAM M. RICE aged 90 born in Tennessee, died in Huntsville May 10, 1890, single.) Married in Fayetteville April 12, MR. DAN POWELL to MISS MATILDA NANCE, both of Madison County. MR. JAMES S. McDONNELL, youngest son of A. McDONNELL, SR. Esq. of this county, was married Tuesday last at Althmier, Arkansas to MISS SUSIE BELLE HUNTER of that place. April 30, 1890 On Monday, April 14 MR. JAMES L. BROWNING died at his home in the Lone Star State, aged 78. He was the father of MRS. G. M. NEELY of this city. Married. Wednesday April 28th at the home of the parents of the bride, MR. JOSEPH GOLIGHTLY of Florence to MISS KATIE LEE, eldest daughter of MR. and MRS. GEO. M. NEELY of this city. The flower bearers were sisters of the bride, MISSES CARRIE and GEORGIA NEELY. An invitation was received by MR. GEORGE B. GILL to the wedding of his nephew J. 0. GILL, formerly of this city, on April 24th to MISS WINNIE TERRY of Dallas, Texas; he is the son of CHARLES 0. GILL. Died, at her home in New Market on April 22, 1890, MRS. EMMA LOVE, wife of MR. F. C. LOVE...born in May, 1855...left husband and five daughters. May 21, 1890 F. P. WARD, Esq., an old and highly esteemed citizen of Huntsville (died) in Nashville Wednesday. He began life as a physician, then was a builder and contractor and then finally settled on the legal profession. He was born in one of the Carolinas about 65 years ago and has been living in Huntsville the past 45 years. May 28, 1890 In Memoriam. MRS. F. A. ROSS, died in Rogersville. Tennessee May 29, 1890. WHITE (33 in Virginia), bom in Abingdon, Virginia (died 30 May 1890) the 15th of August, 1817 when a young man, moved to Huntsville. Here in our midst he built a character and led a life full of honor, full of kindness and full of affection. As a husband and father he was perfection, as a citizen he was an ornament to any community. June 11, 1890 New Market Notes. June 10, 1890. MR.
