June 18 1890 We learn of the sudden death of MR. JOHN CRUTCHER at Triana yesterday of heart disease. He was a brother-in-law of MRS. HENRY B. DILLARD. July 23 1890 A shooting scrape this morning JOHN A. STEELE, JR., Mayor of the city and son of JUDGE JOHN STEELE was instantly killed by JOHN W. GOODWIN, and the latter injured by TOM STEELE, brother of the Mayor. (Dispatch from Tuscumbia, July 18th.) News of the death of MR. C. Q. WHITE at his residence near Hazel Green Saturday has reached the city. Funeral services were held at his late residence Sunday morning and the remains brought to this city for interment. Died at his residence on Spragins Street yesterday evening, DANIEL C. CLARK of consumption. August 13, 1890 Friends of MR. JAMES H. WARE will be pained to learn of his sudden death Wednesday night, in his 79th year. He came to this county from Virginia when a young man. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire community. August 20, 1890 Died at the residence of his father, JOHN A. ERWIN, August 14th, GEORGE T. ERWIN, aged 38. Baptist. In Memoriam. MRS. Died at Larkinsville September 1st, MR. DAVE LARKIN, married only a few months. There were two deaths in Scottsboro of heart disease last week, MRS. J. B. McCORD and MISS BURROWS. September 10, 1890 Relatives and friends of WILLIAM LAWLER will regret to hear of his death August 20, 1890 at Camden, Wilcox County, Alabama. He was a native of Madison County. In Memoriam. BEASLEY was shot in a difficulty with a painter working for him; MR. BEASLEY died. (from New Market notes) The death of JOHN P. SPENCE occurred Monday night from a pistol wound by his own hands. He was born in this city April 30, 1847 and has been married about 21 years. He leaves a wife, four girls and two boys. For many years he has been Engineer of the City Fire Department. October 22, 1890 JOHN PERVIN, an aged farmer who lives between Madison and Cluttsville, was shot through the heart by his nephew JOHN BALCH...an old family feud...both parties have many friends who will regret to hear of the sad affair. November 12, 1890 MR. JOHN E. BENTLEY of this city died this morning at McMinnville, Tennessee of typhoid fever. MR. BENTLEY came to Tennessee in his youth 396 - (3696)
