November 26, 1890 Resolutions of Respect. Chestnut Grove Farmers' Alliance No. 64, Berkley, Alabama on the death of G. W. GLOVER who died November 9, 1890. The bereaved family has lost husband, father, brother. December 3, 1890 Early Monday morning MRS. ANNIE R. CONWAY, wife of Aiderman JAMES CONWAY, died. Funeral was from the Catholic Church. MR. J. R. McKINNEY, an aged and highly respected citizen of the county, died near Brownsboro, yesterday morning. (Death Certificate--J. R. McKINNEY, born in Alabama, aged 65, married, died December 2, 1890 at Meridianville.) December 31, 1890 Died, COL. HUGH LAWSON CLAY. He was born in Huntsville January 16, 1822, educated at Green Academy, University of Alabama, University of Virginia, Captain in the War with Mexico, Captain of U.S. 13th Infantry, March 5, 1847, Company H, COL. R. M. ECHOLS commanding the regiment. In May 1855 he married MISS CELESTE COMER of Macon, Georgia. Served in the Confederate Army. (No child survived.) (Death Certificate 69) January 7, 1891 Died, MRS. NANNIE MAXWELL, daughter of MR. J. MURRAY ROBERTSON, at her father's residence, Sunday. The remains were brought to this city and funeral services held from the Episcopal Church. January 14, 1891 MRS. SALLIE S. TAYLOR, bom December 5, 1867, joined the Cumberland Presbyterian Church at Union Chapel in the fall of 1885, was married to W. S. TAYLOR in this city, February 19, 1890 and died January 9, 1891. In Memoriam. NANNIE D. MAXWELL, eldest daughter of J. MURRAY ROBERTSON, aged 34. MRS. AGGIE PHARR, after a pleasant visit, left yesterday for her home in Arkansas. She is a sister of J. L. and W. R. RISON. January 21, 1891 In Memoriam. DR. WILLIAM E. RIVERS died at his home near New Hope, Alabama December 17, 1890. He was born February 10, 1826 and was married just forty years lacking one day. DR. RIVERS was of a high order of intellect, proud spirited, high minded and richly endowed with all those principles that are calculated to engender love and respect of his fellowmen. T.L.O. At Brundidge, Alabama MR. COLLIER, an aged citizen about 80 years of age, fell dead Sunday morning of heart disease. At Monroeville BOB GRAHAM shot and fatally wounded JOHN L. STALLWORTH, brother of HON. N. J. STALLWORTH, member of the Legislature. MAJOR JESSE ADAMS of Tuskeegee died Sunday afternoon. He left a wife and a large family, including J. R. ADAMS, railroad conductor and N. K., WILL and FRAZER ADAMS, all engaged in the express or railroad business, and FRANK ADAMS of Huntsville. MAJOR ADAMS had been an express agent for forty years. Meridianville notes. MRS. AGGIE PHARR, nee JONES, from Arkansas, made a visit to her sister, MRS. JOHN FORD. Our community is saddened by the death of MRS. OTEY. We sympathize with the family.
