February 25, 1891 The remains of MR. W. A. LOVE, who died suddenly at his home in Madison Saturday afternoon, were interred in the Far_ey burying ground near Madison yesterday morning...none knew him but esteemed him. Monrevia. We regret very much to hear of the death of MRS. WILLIAM ALLEN of Fayetteville. MRS. ANNA SMITH of Reedyville, Tennessee is guest of her mother MRS. P. 0. SCHAUDIES. March 4, 1891 Whitesburg notes. MR. JACKSON LEE, in his 70's, is visiting relatives in Decatur, his first railroad ride was from your city to Decatur. MR. J. W. FLYAN, an aged citizen living in the eastern part of the county died Friday... pneumonia. (Death Certificate: JOHN W. FLINN, born in Tennessee aged 63, died February 28th at Whitesburg. Married.) In Memoriam. Died at his residence in Madison County, 21 February 1892, W. W. McCRARY, of pneumonia. He left an aged mother, a wife, and a large family of children. He was born 63 years ago in the house where he died...a man of rare ability, honesty and integrity. For eleven years he had been a member of the Christian Church. L. C. LITTLE. (Earlier report of death was premature, his tombstone shows "WILLIAM WRIGHT McCRARY, bom October 1, 1827, died February 21, 1891.") DR. F. L. ANDAMS of Tuskeegee, brother of FRANK ADAMS (druggist), returns to his home. We are glad this young dental surgeon has decided to locate in Huntsville for the practice of his profession. March 11, 1891 Friends of MR. ISAAC FIELDS will be shocked to learn of his being drowned. He ran a ferry at this place...on the opposite side of the river he got off the ferry, got on his horse and started home. The supposition is the horse ran off the bridge and he fell in Long Pond, and drowned. MR. FIELDS was a prosperous farmer, a good citizen, highly respected, and a good friend to the poor and needy. His wife died last April. He leaves three children, two boys and one daughter. (Whitesburg notes.) March 18, 1891 Resolutions of respect. COL. LIONEL W. DAY, by the Huntsville Bar; also by the I. 0. 0. F. In Memoriam. Y(ANCY) P(RESTON) TROTMAN (22 in Alabama; SAM'L), bom November 15, 1828, married MISS SARAH E. CRUTCHER June 20, 1871, died February 4, 1891. We have known PRESTON TROTMAN from early manhood...when the war broke out he joined CAPT. JOHN COLTART's Company and went to Pensacola, Florida where taking sick, he was discharged. The following spring he joined CAPT. JOHN S. DICKSON's Company, principally made up in Huntsville before going to La Grange College and joining the 35th Alabama Regiment commanded by COL. ROBERTSON, president of the college. After the war he returned and devoted his life to farming. There was never a more true and devoted husband and loving father. W. L. M. The many friends and relatives of MRS. LUCINDA HEREFORD will regret to learn of her death at her home near New Market the 4th of March, 1891. She was a devoted member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Having married quite young, her first husband DAVID STRONG after a few years died, leaving her alone to care for and rear her three small children, all of whom survive her. After a few years she was again married, to MR. WILLIAM HEREFORD, with whom she leaves four children. March 25, 1891 MR. F. VARIN died last Monday, after a long illness from diabetes, in his 73rd year. MR. VARIN was born in Montreal, Canada and moved to Huntsville in 1853. For 22 years he was employed by the Memphis and Charleston Railroad as a Master Car Builder. He leaves a widow and five children. Resolutions. J. R. WALKER was born February 23, 1850 and died near New Market, Alabama February 2, 1891 aged 40 years 11 months and 29 days. He joined the Baptist Church at Locust Grove in August, 1890. 399 - (3699)
