Died in Athens, Alabama in 1882 (obituary says 1883). She was born in 1800 in Tennessee, daughter of WM. and NANCY (REED) PRICE. She died 1883. WM. PRICE born in 1770 in North Carolina. His family moved to Tennessee while very young, married NANCY REED, moved to Limestone County in 1821, children(?) of JOHN and SARAH HAMMERLY: GE0(?) born in Limestone County 1829. In 1851 moved to Eastport, Mississippi. In 1874, Iuka, Mississippi. In Civil War, married MARY A. SCRUGGS 1858. Lived in Iuka, Mississippi 1891, LYDIA M. born between 1826-36; NANCY R. born between 1826-36, married WM. HENDRICKS; WM. G. born between 1826-36, died in Alabama 1860; see 1850 Census of Limestone County, Alabama. MR. ALBERT HARVEY of Slough Beat died Saturday with pneumonia. Lauderdale News. Died at the residence of her father, MR. J. H. HARDWICK at Woodland in this county, MRS. D. McENTYRE, relict of the late ANDREW McENTYRE. MR. JAMES R. BILLINGSLEY, born and raised in this county, died at his home in Coshoma County, Mississippi of pneumonia, 26th of January. MR. SOLOMAN W. RAVES died at Paducah, Kentucky on the 14th instant; he was formerly a resident of this county. New Court House at Center, replacing one that burned. March 7, 1883 ALCUIN RASON of Mississippi is visiting his family and friends. Married at the residence of the bride Monday evening, MR. JAMES M. BONE and MRS. LAURA GUNNEL. CAPT. BONE is U.S. Commissioner, a Northern man who has come amongst us and made many friends. MRS. GUNNEL is a daughter of JUDGE THOMAS GEORGE of Colorado. Married Tuesday night at Madison, MR. P. M. FAUGHT to MISS ANNIE WIGGINS. The groom is a druggist of Denton, Texas. In Memoriam. Died, March 2nd, MRS. ELIZA M. TALIAFERRO, wife of DR. E. T. TALIAFERRO of New Market. TOONS enjoyed her 93rd birthday yesterday, the 4th instant. Died Thursday afternoon MRS. MARY SAXON. The funeral services were conducted by REV. JOHN A. THOMPSON from her late residence on Holmes Street...she had seen her early friends sink into earth's quiet green breast.... Friday, MR. BENJAMIN E. BALES (cancer) Services from the Baptist Church Sunday by REV. J. A. B. LOVETT. MR. BALES was for years one of our best contractors and builders. He was buried with fraternal honors by the Knights of Pythias. He leaves a wife and several small children. Friday evening, MRS. NANCY MURPHY, the verable mother of MESSRS. JERE and ROBERT E. MURPHY. Funeral services were conducted by REV. JOHN A. THOMPSON; deceased was 91 years of age. Tribute to MRS. IDA WESTMORELAND who died at her old home in Limestone County 24th of February... one so young, a loving mother, affectionate sister, devoted daughter... J. C. Jackson County. MRS. TOONS enjoyed her 93rd birthday today, it being the 4th. MR. WADDY SCRUGGS left this morning for St. Louis, Missouri where he expects to make his future home. March 21, 1883 North Alabamian. 10th. MR. KIRK JACKSON, son of the late COL. JAMES JACKSON of Florence, has been appointed Clerk to the Railroad Commission of this State. HON. JOSEPH B. McDONALD died at Athens Sunday morning, March 11th in his 48th year. He was a skillful lawyer, a scholar of unusual culture and attainments, and a man of conspicuous integrity, generosity and nobility of mind. 408 - (3708)
