Florence Gazette. MR. SIMPSON WALKER, a native of Florence and son of the late HON. R. W. WALKER was here Friday on a short visit to his uncle R. T. SIMPSON. L. W. HUMES, son of GEN. W. Y. C. HUMES of Memphis and law partner of his father is in the city. MASTER JOHN ERSKINE, son of the lamented DR. XAN ERSKINE of Memphis is visiting relatives. DR. J. L. WATKINS, a young physician of Nashville, of talent and promise, has been visiting in our city. MISS ELLA YARBROUGH of Cherokee is (visiting) her aunt MRS. GEN. HUMPHREY, near Rep. June 20, 1883 Moulton Advertiser. MR. GRAHAM (probably LYDDA wife of JOHN GRAHAM, she was 53 in 1850 and died after 1880), said to be nearly 100 years old, died a few miles northwest of Moulton Monday night of last week. Decatur News. Our venerable friend. MR. JOHN F. BANKS, in his 93rd year, is on a visit to his friends in town...in sound health. June 27 1883 LARKIN A. WORTHAM died at Maysville on the morning of June 26, 1883. He was bom near Lebanon in the State of Tennessee and was about 50 years of age. MR. LOGAN B. REEDY (6 in Alabama; son of JOHN A.) died in this city Monday last, June 25th. He was a native of this county but for the past 18 or 20 years has resided in Texas, reaching home only some few months ago. MR. REEDY passed away in the very meridian of life. July 11, 1883 MR. OSCAR W. SULLIVAN, son of DR. C. R. SULLIVAN of Madison, was fatally stricken by a bolt of lightning Wednesday... a young man of 19 or 20. MISS ELLA LEE WITHERS, daughter of DR. SAMUEL J. WITHERS of Mooresville, is visiting at the home of COL. H. L. CLAY. MR. and MRS. W. H. TANCRE and daughter have gone to Chicago to visit MR. WILLIAM TANCRE, a son and brother. July 18, 1883 Scottsboro Citizen. MRS. JONES, who lives at Bridgeport, will celebrate her 100th birthday Saturday next. Her descendants numbering near 200 are expected to be present. MRS. PATSY FLYNT of Mississippi (widow of PERRY FLYNT?), who formerly lived in the Hazel Green country, is visiting friends in the county. She is the venerable aunt of J. J. McDAVID, Esq. is about 80 years of age and is wonderfully preserved. MRS. SARAH BARRETT of Mississippi is visiting relatives in the city. MAJOR CHARLEY COXE has returned to Louisville, Kentucky. The remains of MISS SALLY CLARK, the daughter of MR. SAM CLARK, for many years a resident of this county, were brought from Nashville for burial Monday. The remains of MRS. MARY WOODSON HUFF were brought to this city for burial Sunday. She was a native of Madison County but was living in Salem, Virginia at the time of her death; she was a devoted wife and mother, and communicant of the Episcopal Church. ARTHUR HAMMOND, brother of JUDGE F. L. HAMMOND, is visiting relatives. He is now a resident of Mississippi but lived in Texas for a time. In Memoriam. Death twice last week visited our community and cut down two of our friends, on Tuesday MRS. ANTOINETTE PETTUS and on Friday MRS. ANN M. BROWN; both were interred in the family burying ground on MR. R. E. PETTUS' place. MRS. BROWN, relict of the REV. HARTWELL BROWN (tombstone ANN M. BROWN our mother--wife of REV. H. H.
