October 31, 1883 Talladega, October 28. COL. TAUL BRADFORD died of consumption here this morning at 1 o'clock and was buried this afternoon at 3. A large concourse of citizens attended his burial. No ceremonies were observed. He was a member of the 44th Congress. December 12, 1883 Died at his home in Memphis, MR. FRANK H. CRUSE--double pneumonia. MR. CRUSE, a native of Huntsville, was born in April, 1860. Burial was from the Church of the Nativity. Died at his residence in this city Saturday, MR. LARKIN P. SULLIVAN in the 72nd year of his life. The deceased was a native of South Carolina but at the age of 4 he came with his parents to this county and settled near Hazel Green. About the time he was grown he removed to Texas, for 4 years. On his return he went to the old home, and in 1867 came to Huntsville. Member of the Methodist Church. MRS. MILLER of Hot Springs, Arkansas nee FEARN, is visiting the home of COL. GARTH. December 19, 1883 Guntersville Democrat. JAMES POWERS, an old citizen living near Claysville, was found dead in bed Saturday. WESLEY CURRY of Friendship dropped dead. He had been living in the county 8 years; left a wife and five children. Scottsboro Herald. J. W. McKAY, an industrious and upright citizen was found dead, head mashed...evidently his team had run away and thrown him from the wagon. He left a widow and a large family of children. MR. FEARN PENN and MRS. V. A. WALLACE, teaching at Madison were in Huntsville Saturday. MRS. LEE (nee McDEVITT) is visiting, from Chattanooga. December 24, 1883 MR. MATTHEWS ERSKINE, who made his home at Richmond, Virginia a few years ago, is visiting his family. Death Record: CLARA SIVELY, born in Alabama, aged 58, died in Huntsville March 18, 1883...widow. MERCURY 1892 January 6, 1892 We clip the notice of the death of a former Huntsvillian from a Maryland paper. MR. MULLONS erected the two story brick houses on Washington Street which still belong to his estate. "WILLIAM C. MULLENS died at Rock Springs, Cecil County, Maryland Sunday night in his 65th year; born in Hopewell, Chester County; in 1856 he went to Philadelphia, and about two years before the war he went to Huntsville, Alabama and in 1868 he came to Rock Springs." News was received in Huntsville yesterday of the death of MR. THOMAS JAMAR (33 in Virginia) at his home in Green Grove Monday night. MR. JAMAR was formerly a merchant and business man of this city and no man was estimated higher for his just and fair dealing. He was 75 years of age, and for the past few years has conducted a large farming interest in the southern portion of the county. His funeral and buria-will take place this morning from his old home in Mullons Flat. He leaves a large family circle. Sheet dated December 23, 1891 (probably merely failed to change date.) Wednesday afternoon at 5 o'clock the soul of MR. HENRY JACKSON (35 in North Carolina) PICKARD winged its flight.... MR. PICKARD was 76 years old last April and had been a citizen of this city all his life. He was well and favorably known in our community. He leaves an aged wife, a sister MRS. SARAH HILLIARD of Nashville, MRS. NANCY WHITE of Columbia, Tennessee who is a half sister, and a number of grandchildren.
