He was a member of the Methodist Church. MR. RISON yesterday was recipient of a telegram from Memphis stating MRS. STRATTON died at her home there, February 15. She was the mother of MRS. WM. B. LEEDY, formerly of this city, and now of Birmingham. February 23, 1893 DAVID A. RAMSEY, one of the earliest employees of the M & C RR, died at Memphis Sunday February 19. The deceased belonged to this city and the remains will arrive here for burial this morning. MR. RAMSEY antedated every conductor on this division, he having been with the road since its inception. When through transit between "Bluff City" and Chattanooga first began to make through trips, in 1856, he was a conductor. Only when age began to tell did the officers of the road conclude to reward the faithful attache with an easier position at Memphis. He was a member of the Masonic fraternity, Delphic Lodge of the Knights of Honor and Monte Sano Lodge #1 of the Knights of Pythias. March 2, 1893 In Memoriam. DAVID A. RAMSEY died February 19, 1893 at Memphis, Tennessee in the 65th year of his age. He joined the Lodge December 2, 1877...copy of Resolutions be furnished the family of Brother RAMSEY. DAVIS died suddenly at the house of a friend on the mountain road leading to Maysville, Thursday morning last, of paralysis. She was the mother of C. His father and brother JAMES had been summoned from Memphis and his sister MARY from Nashville. The funeral will take place at the Church of the Nativity tomorrow, DR. BANISTER officiating. MESSRS. WM. SILVESTER and FRANK MITCHELL, son and son-in-law of TOM SILVESTER arrived in Town Saturday and removed their father to his home in Danville. It was a risky move in a wagon but MR. SILVESTER was anxious to get home. We hope the trip was made in safety. March 9, 1893 (Died) Thursday March 2, 1893, MRS. W. H. McANELLY; the death of EMILY NEWMAN McANELLY occurred in the morning of her fresh young life... (Death report. EMILY J. McANELLY, bom in Alabama, aged 30, died March 2, in Huntsville. Married.) Died of pneumonia at the home of her son-in-law MR. JOHN BRADLEY yesterday afternoon, MRS. W. VINCENT. The recent death of her daughter weighed on her mind (she died of pneumonia). The deceased was a sister of CAPT. FRANK GURLEY of this county and shortly after the death of her husband about 5 years ago she came to this city and made her home with her son and daughter. After the death of the latter she devoted herself to caring for her grandchildren... for the second time these little ones are bereft.
