April 2, 1863 Obituary: DR. THOMAS FEARN (55 in Virginia) died in Huntsville, Alabama 16 January, 1863 in the 74th year of his age. He was a native of the State of Virginia and emigrated to Huntsville in the year 1811. He left a family consisting of seven daughters. MARY SULLIVAN (60 in South Carolina), consort of RANDOLPH SULLIVAN (66 in South Carolina), in her 74th year. She was born in Laurens County, South Carolina in 1789--a devoted wife and loving and kind mother. Deaths in the Huntsville Hospital: On Friday May 22nd 1863 THOMAS D. ELKINS, private in COL. SHACKELFORD'S Company, COL. RODDY's Regiment Alabama Cavalry. Native of Lawrence County. Leaves wife and children. HUNTSVILLE WEEKLY INDEPENDENT Huntsville, Alabama--A. R. GILL of Athens, Alabama to MISS LUCY FISHBACK of the former place. January 9, 1875 Married in this city on Thursday evening the 7th by REV. DR. BANNISTER, MR. J. LAWRENCE WATKINS, JR. and MISS BETTIE MATTHEWS, all of Huntsville, at the Church of Nativity. Attendants were MR. J. P. MATTHEWS and MISS LUCY and SUSIE MATTHEWS. FRANK NEAL of this city; amiable, accomplished and beautiful woman. She bloomed in northern soil until gathered by her Southern lover at the close of the war.... In this city on Sunday last, January 17, of diptheria, EUGENE, youngest child of JOHN A. and BETTIE F. ERWIN aged about 18 months. January 30 1875 Died in Dayton, Ohio Monday January 18, MR. DAVID BARNARD aged 72. Was father of our fellow townsman, MR. HENRY BARNARD. It will be remembered that MR. BARNARD spend several months on a visit to his son last year.... 442 - (3742)
