Died near New Hope in this county on Monday night September 20 of congestive chill, GEORGE CHILDRESS aged 15. Near New Hope in this county on Saturday last, MR. J. T. CHILDERS aged about 27. Promising young school teacher, and but a few years ago was married to MISS BUTLER of this county. October 14 1875 Died in Madison County October 4, MR. WINN THOMAS after a short illness. Had been in our midst but a few short months having removed to this county from near Wartrace, Bedford County, Tennessee in January, 1875. October 21, 1875 Married in this city on the 19th at the residence of MRS. E. P. DAVID by REV. B. W. BUSSEY, MR. THOS. SMITH and MISS CALLIE LANE, all of this city. October 28, 1875 Died in Phillips County, Arkansas September 21, 1875, D(ANIEL) H. SEVERS (52 in Tennessee) aged 73 years and 2 months. Formerly an old citizen of this county. Married on the evening of the 21st by REV. DR. BANISTER, DR. C. A. ROBINSON and MISS JOANNA ROBINSON (2 in Alabama), daughter of MAJ. JAMES ROBINSON (45 in Tennessee), all of this city. CAPT. A. D. BENNETT, one of the oldest citizen of Gadsden died a few days ago. November 4 1875 COL. NICHOLAS DAVIS (25 in Alabama, Limestone County) died at his residence in this city Tuesday evening last after an illness of one week. Born in Limestone County January 14, 1825.... Brilliant lawyer.... Volunteered and was an officer in the Mexican War. November 11, 1875 MRS. SARAH, wife of JAMES W. WARREN died on 20 October 1875 in Giles County, Tennessee, Missionary Baptist.... Died at Bolton, Mississippi Tuesday October 10th, LAWRENCE WATKINS, son of CHARLES L. and JENNIE P. ROBINSON aged 6 years and 6 days. November 19, 1875 Married November 11 at the residence of the bride's father, MR. JAMES SANFORD by REV. F. M. PROCTER, MR. JAMES S. MATTHEWS and MISS JENNIE W. SANFORD, all of Madison County. November 25, 1875 MRS. JULIA LANDMAN (44 in North Carolina), wife of JAMES LANDMAN (49 in Virginia) of this vicinity died on Saturday last of pneumonia aged about 77. Funeral took place Sunday evening last, REV. R. M. TINNON of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church officiating. If MARGARET ANN DAVIS and WILLIAM DAVIS will come to the front now and will communicate with VANDERBILT L. BAXTER, JR. they will hear something pleasant. Their mother, MRS. ANN DAVIS is dead and MR. BAXTER is looking for the heirs. His address is 289 Greenwich Street. Southern and Western newspapers please copy. December 2, 1875 Died at his residence 3 miles west of New Hope, Alabama on the 8th, MR. JOHN T. HARRISON aged 76. GEORGE WHIT(FIELD) DRAKE (35 in Alabama), one of the oldest citizens of this vicinity died at his residence on Saturday morning last the 27th instant in his 61st year; died of asthma. Death of HON.
