May 13, 1880 “"ROBERT McBRIDE, son of ROBERT and ZARILDA McBRIDE died April 25, 1880 of meningitis; was born January 6, 1855. May 27, 1880 Death of DR. JOHN T. LOWE of Aberdeen, Mississippi. Oldest child of COL. B. M. LOWE and brother of HON. WILLIAM MANNING LOWE. June 3, 1880 MRS. ELIZA TROTMAN died May 16. Born at Madison Station November 29, 1854 married to F. M. TROTMAN February 4, 1873. Her maiden name was SARAH ELIZA MAGAHA. Leaves her husband, three boys, father, mother, brothers and sisters. June 17, 1880 Died in this city the 15th instant of consumption, MRS. E. T. HUSSEY aged about 65. Mother of MRS. CHARLES CUMMINS and a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. June 24, 1880 Died June 19th, SALLIE IRBY STRODE after a long and painful illness (grandparents of HUDSON STRODE). Born in Madison County, the daughter of THOMAS MARTIN, Esq. In 1854 she married ELDER EUGENE STRONE, 1st pastor of Enon Baptist Church at Huntsville, MR. STRODE removed with his family to Mississippi and resided there until his death in 1872, after which MRS. STRODE removed her family to this place. Died in Sharpe's Cove Monday the 7th instant of consumption, JOHN C. CARTER aged 48. Leaves a wife and 7 children. July 1, 1880 Died June 29th in this city, MRS. ADELAIDE B. BREWSTER, wife of MR. HIRAM BREWSTER of the Memphis and Charleston Railroad, after a long and painful illness. MRS. SUSAN TULETA HANNAH, wife of A. J. HANNAH died of cancer of the breast, near Owens X Roads May 12th. Leaves 3 little children. Was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. July 8 1880 CHARLES P. CABANISS died on the 5th instant aged 64. July 29, 1880 Died, RUCKER, infant daughter of JUDGE WILLIAM RICHARDSON at his home in Huntsville Wednesday July 21st after a brief illness. August 12, 1880 HARRIET R. TAYLOR, wife of MORRIS K. TAYLOR died at their home in the country at 4 a.m. Tuesday, July 20th in her 67th year.... Belonged to Missionary Baptist Church.... GUSTAVUS LYLE MASTIN died at his home on Franklin Street at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 10th after a most painful illness. He was born in Fincastle, Virginia January 1, 1815, was taken to Tennessee when a small child and remained in that state under the care of his grandfather, SOLOMON HOGE until Jane (January or June?), 1827 when he moved to Huntsville. He has resided in Huntsville ever since. Was one of the earliest of University of Alabama students. In 1833, he entered the mercantile business.... Since 1858, he has been a planter in Madison County. Was a leading member of one of the most numerous and highly respected families in the South. Leaves a large family. Death of CHARLES W. HEREFORD (son of THE0D0RIA--Census). Died at his late home in this city August 7th in his 46th year. Born May 15, 1835. Commenced business under MR. HASTIN in 1851 and remained under him 7 years. Then he entered the employ of MR. SLEDGE for one year after which he went into business as a member of the firm of HEREFORD and LEFTWICK and afterwards HEREFORD and TIMBERLAKE. He first married 1855 LOUISA A. ELGIN, whom died in 1878. On October 2, 1879, he married MRS. N. W. BINFORD, who survives him. 449 - (3749)
