Born in Knoxville, Tennessee January 1, 1794, came with her parents to Madison County, Alabama about 1809. Married HENRY RIGNEY September 28, 1817 and was left a widow March 30, 1832... December 16, 1880 Remains of the late JOHN B. HARDIE buried in city cemetery at Huntsville Friday, December 10, 1880. Native of Huntsville about 32 years ago. Truly an excellent officer.... December 23, 1880 Died Tuesday December 14th at his home about 8 miles from Huntsville in Pond Beat, MR. JOSIAH SPRINGER at advanced age of about 75. The deceased came to Madison County in a comparatively early period... All residents of the county of more than 40 years will remember him. COL. J. J. GIERS died very suddenly in a barber's chair while getting a shave. Was a German of high attainments... December 30, 1880 SARAH, infant daughter of COL. L. H. HENRY DAVIDSON aged 78. Died--MR. JOHN FRAZIER in Athens (Limestone County) last Friday night; was more than 80 years old. February 2, 1882 THOMAS McBROOM, a straight-out Republican has been appointed Postmaster of Scottsboro (Jackson County). He is a nephew of PERRY L. HARRISON. March 2, 1882 Died--MRS. ROBERT PEEBLES of Mooresville (Limestone County) February 25th. Died--SALLIE A. BOONE, young daughter of COL. 0. C. BOONE. Died--MISS ELIZABETH HODGES at the residence of GEORGE P. LANDMAN about 6 a.m. February 27th. Had resided in Madison County for many years. Died--PROF. J. Y. BRISTOL in this city February 28th aged about 35. Came to Huntsville from Kentucky about three months ago. The father of deceased lives in Pennsylvania. He leaves a wife and a step-son. Death of MARCUS A. ERWIN, son of the distinguished Methodist minister. He was bom August 16, 1849 and died February 27, 1882. As a minister, he was connected with the Tennessee Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church South for five years and with the North Alabama Conference one year. March 16, 1882 Died in Huntsville March 14, 1882, MARION ROSNAYNE, wife of DR. JUSTIN ROSNAYNE. March 23, 1882 MRS. CORNELIA WILLIAMS, wife of JOE D. WILLIAMS died near Sulphur Rock (Independence County), Arkansas February 21st of scarlet fever in her 45th year. Moved from the vicinity of Madison Station about 12 months ago.
