Died at his residence in this county on Thursday, 3rd instant, in the 40th year of his age, MR. JOHN P. POWELL of an illness of but a few hours continuance. Left a widow and five small children.... Native of Powhattan County, Virginia and emigrated to this country about 11 or 12 years ago. Richmond Enquirer please copy.

Died in this place on the 10th, MRS. JUDITH POPE in the 58th year of her age, wife of COL. LeROY POPE.... Native of Virginia from which state she emigrated to Georgia in early life. From Georgia she removed to this place in 1810 and was the first and oldest female inhabitant of the town. Leaves a bereaved husband and children.
