SLOSS, SYDNEY C(HERRY) POSEY, Esq, Editor of Florence Gazette to MISS HARRIET CALISTA DePRIEST. Note: We have Bible record. He was son of JESSE HAMILTON and ELEANOR (BROOKS) POSEY; bom May 4, 1803, died December 22, 1868 in Florence, Alabama. HARRIET was daughter of DR. HORATIO DePRIEST. Died on 20th instant ELVIRA ELIZABETH, daughter of CAPT. DANIEL B. TURNER, aged 16 months. March 2, 1833 Died on 22nd instant at his residence three miles from this place in his 43rd year. CAPT. WILLIAM CLARKE, native of Chesterfield County, Virginia and for last 14 years a citizen of North Alabama. Kind husband and father. March 9, 1833 Married on 28th February by REV. JAMES ROWE, LEVI HYNDS to MISS ANN R. HUNT, all of this county. Died yesterday morning after illness of 1% days of scarlet fever, ARTHUR HOPKINS, son of MR. JAMES G. BIRNEY of this town, aged about 6 years. Died in this town on 27th of February, DOCT. JAMES ROANE. March 16, 1833 Married on 12th instant by REV. J. BUTCHER, MR. DAVID M. DANCY, minister of the Gospel in the Methodist Church of Morgan County to MISS JANE E. MASON, daughter of GEORGE MASON, Esq. of this county. March 30 1833 Died at the residence of ELI HAMMOND, JAMES TROTTER aged about 55; native of New Galloway in Scotland. Emigrated to the United States about 34 years since and settled in Petersburg. Virginia, where he resided for some years. Later came to Tennessee, thence to this state, where he was a teacher. Died on 28th instant GEORGIANA, daughter of MR. GEORGE LYNES of this place, aged 2 years, 11 months. Died on 20th, JOHN TAYLOR, son of JARED I. SAMPLE, aged 9 months 6 days. April 6, 1833 Married Wednesday evening last by REV. ROBERT DONNELL, COL. CYRUS S. AIKEN to MISS MILDRED NOBLE, both of Triana. Died Friday, 29th instant of scarlet fever, JULIA POPE, youngest daughter of MR. B. S. POPE, aged about 3 years. Died on 30th instant MYRA LOUISA, daughter of E. R. WALLACE, aged 6 weeks. Died on 31st, SARAH E. M., daughter of MRS. L. L. PATTON, aged about 8. Died on Monday night last, MARY MARGARET, daughter of MR. GEORGE LYNES, aged 8 years 2 months. April 13, 1833 Married Wednesday evening last by REV. TURNER SAUNDERS, MR. WILLIAM MANNING to MISS ELIZABETH, daughter of MR. WILLIAM WEEDON, all of this county. Died on 1st, MISS SARAH H. CALVERT in 14t'n year, daughter of MR. J. S. CALVERT of this county. Died suddenly at his residence in this county on 30th instant MR. JOHN AMONIT in his 82nd year of his age. Thus another Revolutionary spirit has sunk to rest. 478 - (3778)
