She emigrated from Bedford County, Virginia to Madison County, Alabama in 1827 where she resided until 23 September, 1846 and then removed to Russel Valley, Franklin County. Joined Presbyterian Church in 1787. Left numerous children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Departed this life at his residence in this county on night of 13 of pneumonia, MR. WILLIAM PROVENCE in 74th year. Departed this life on 2 December 1846, MRS. POLLY N. FLETCHER in 66th year of pulmonary complaint. Bom in Nottoway County, Virginia 1781 and was relic of MR. NATHAN FLETCHER, late of Brunswick County, Virginia. December 17, 1846 Died in Tuscumbia on 6th, MR. MARCELLOUS W. HARVEY aged 20 years. The captain of the Jackson County Guards in a letter from Rio Grande announces the deaths of SILAS GEORGE, JOHN R. INGLES, and HERVEY S. (HENRY S.; see pension) FLIPPO, members of that county of Alabama Regiment. June 22, 1846 (omitted before) Died in Harrison County, Texas on 18th April MR. JAMES E. BROWNING aged 65, formerly of this county. Died in Decatur on 15th, MR. JOHN PARKER aged 63. In Dallas County on 16th, GEN. GILBERT SHEARER aged 57. December 24, 1846 Departed this life on 26th in Limestone County WILLIAM H. BLACKWELL after illness of 10 days aged 54. Native of Fauquier County, Virginia from which his family emigrated to Columbia County, Georgia. January 22 1847 Died in Triana on 30th, MR. WILLIAM KIRBY aged 52. Born in North Carolina but raised in Tennessee. In 16th year entered the army under GEN. JACKSON and continued in it during the war and fought bravely at New Orleans. Settled in Triana in 1824 where he resided up to his death. On Monday morning the 11th, of whooping cough, JANE, eldest daughter of DR. CHARLES H. PATTON of this place aged about 10 years. At her residence in this county on the 31st, MRS. ELIZABETH E. SMITH, consort of H. SMITH, Esq. in her 64th year. Born in Rutherford County, North Carolina. Emigrated to Alabama where she continued to reside until her death. Member of Methodist Episcopal Church. In Lawrence County, on the 11th, MR. WILLIAM P. HODGES aged 22. January 29, 1847 Departed this life on Wednesday the 13 of January at the residence of his father about 8 miles northwest of Huntsville, of an affliction of the heart, after a painful and prostrated illness, GABRIEL EDWARD MOORE, 2nd surviving son of EDWARD and JANE MOORE of Madison County aged about 34 years, native of Moore County. North Carolina where many of his surviving relatives still reside. From that state he emigrated with his father's family to Alabama and settled in Madison County in the year 1822.... Died in Talladega County on 17th, WILEY P. SAUNDERS aged 44, formerly a citizen of Jackson County. February 12, 1847 Died in DeSoto County, Mississippi on 2 January DAVID MAXWELL, formerly a citizen of this county. February 26, 1847 Died at his residence in Elyton, Alabama, February 13, 1847, JAMES MUDD, Esq. in his 57th year. Native of Maryland and in early life 488 - (3788)
