Died at Tampico, Mexico on 17 January MR. JOHN EDWARD SMITH, aged 18 years of Tuscaloosa. Student at University. Joined Alabama Regiment and died of yellow fever.
At Point Isabel on 1st December last, ARCHELOUS A. COCHRAN of Greensboro aged 20 years and a volunteer.
In Courtland on 27 January last, MRS. LUCINDA McLEMORE in 48th year of age.

In this county last week at his residence near Triana, MR. JAMES HATTON, a good citizen.

Died in Lawrence County on 13, MRS. SUSAN M. WATKINS, consort of MR. W. M. WATKINS in her 35th year, leaving a husband and 5 small children.
In Clarksville, Texas on 9 January DR. JOHN J. PETERS in 39th year of his age, formerly of Lawrence County.

At residence of her husband, MR. J. B. TATE LOURY of Marshall County on 4 MRS. 0. E. LOURY aged 19.

Departed this life on 24 ROBERT WRIGHT, SR. a Patriot of the Revolution aged 85 years 17 days, native of Amherst County, Virginia. Was at Seige of York and assisted in capture of CORNWALLIS. Emigrated to Madison County in 1808....
Died near Somerville, Morgan County, Alabama on Wednesday 26th, the infant daughter of WILLIAM P. and MARY L. TERRY aged 3 months 16 days.
At Linares, Mexico on 20 January last, LT. JOSEPHUS I. TATUM, of Mississippi Volunteers aged 24 years and a native of Madison County.

In Upsher County, Texas on 4th of March, 1847, PHILIP D(EDMAN) CLACK of Marshall County, Alabama. Died far from home. (married in Blount County, Alabama January 1. 1824 MARY A. HENDERSON, daughter of WM. HENRY HENDERSON and wife MARY H.)
