Marriage, Death, and Legal Notices from Early Alabama Newspapers: 1819-1893, page 491

GEORGE'S death date from MRS. SMITH'S notes--26 August 1847; so that PM I am working on ought to show either pro of will or appointment of administrator. I am confident if a will, it was in lost Will Book 8. I am working on PM 1843-47. I see I worked "S" 1850/53. Wonder if 1847/50 is lost? Probably. They must have lettered those books at random. There is the 1st or C I don't have but you say you do, from MRS. SMITH. I copied 1830/34 - 1835/40 - 1840/43, now 1843/47, then would come the 1848/50 gap--and then the 1st lettered one "S" is 1850/53...then comes "D" 1854/56... then "T" 1857/60... and then starts over with "A" 1865/66. I reckon if there was one 1860/65 it burned. I'll take a look for 1847/50 as I feel sure that would be estates that were in Book 8. We will have to check the ones mentioned in this 1847 book versus WB 7, and anything not in it must have been in 8. Since MRS. HA---(faded) is so eager to learn GEO. M.'s parents, and he was evidently close kin to THOMAS C. (perhaps a brother), should I refer her to MR. NOLAN...if he worked on THOS. C.'s family, may have his ancestry. If so, give me the address. She said an ancestor said to be COUNTESS CHAPPELL. "The name has come down in the THOMAS MALONE family. I think they were the THOMAS (H?) MALONES of "Recluse-ville" who later went to Nashville. I would like to know if he was a brother to GEORGE. The COUNTESS may have been a common ancestress." Hmmm...wonder if that's old Nashville of HV's ancestress? Once I had something you sent, that I though indicated the Tennessee father of Nashville and HARPER and remember getting it out, to tell FRANCES DAVIS to check it but now I can't find it any more.
