February 23, 1849 Died in Tuscaloosa the 7th instant DR. JNO. OWEN for many years a resident of Tuscaloosa. DR. OWEN was a minister of the Gospel of Protestant Methodist Church. March 2, 1849 Departed this life on the 21st at his residence near Somerville, Morgan County, Alabama COL. JAMES B. GRAHAM in the 55th year of his age. Bom in Bath County, Virginia on 15th September 1795 and removed to this county nearly 30 years since. Elected clerk of Circuit Court 1824 and continued in office with the exception of 4 years until October 1847.... March 23, 1849 Died on 15th, MR. SAMUEL R. BROOKS aged 22 years. March 30, 1849 Died in Limestone County on 19th, MR. SAMUEL LENTZ, an old and much respected citizen. In Madison County at his residence on 23 March 1849, EDWARD DOUGLASS in 74th year of his age after 7 months of extreme suffering with rheumatism. JOEL R. LOVE to MISS HARRIET McLEOD, all of Madison County (volume 155, page 27) Married on the 27th instant MR. COVINGTON EDMONDSON (54 in Virginia) to MRS. MAHALA A. H. FAVER (38 in Tennessee), all of Limestone County (volume 205, page 4). Died in Florence (Lauderdale County) on the 24th instant, MR. HENRY BURROW aged 48. Died a few days since in Marshall County, MR. SIMEON NICHOLLS, an old and esteemed citizen. April 13, 1849 Married cn the 29th instant, MR. JAMES A. OGLESBY to MISS MARGARET ANN BRUNDIDGE, all of Limestone County (volume 205, page 5). Died in this county of consumption after protraction of nearly two years, on 16 March 1849, JOSEPH CLOYD, JR. formerly of Botetourt County, Virginia in his 35th year (this is JOS., JR.).... Belonged to the Methodist Episcopal Church South. Left wife and two children, together with many relatives. Lynchburg Virginian please copy. April 20 1849 Died on the morning of the 17th ult. at the residence of MRS. CHILDS. MISS VIRGINIA WILSON of Washington County, D.C. aged 21. Died in this county at the residence of her son, JAMES GORDON (58 in South Carolina) on the 7th of April after a protracted illness, MRS. ELIZABETH GORDON, aged about 83. Married Thursday evening the 12th instant, by A. L. LOGAN, Esq., MR. JOSEPH HILL to MISS MARIA LEE (MIRA in census and marriage records), daughter of REDDEN LEE, Esq. all of this county in the vicinity of Whitesburg. (volume 147, page 60) Married on the 10th instant by REV. WILLIAM G. HENSLY, REV. THOMAS A. STRAIN to MRS. MARY C. ROGERS, relic of the late DR. CHRISTOPHER ROGERS and daughter of the HON.
