September 7, 1849 Died in Forence on 27 July after a lingering illness of 3 months, ANN ELIZABETH, eldest daughter of ABRAM and E. M. DEAN aged 11 years 10 days. At Cahawba, on 17th, JOSEPH BRYAN, a well known Steam Boat Captain for many years on Alabama river. In Athens on 28th, MR. JONATHON J. VASSER aged 33 years, a popular merchant and good citizen. On 29, MRS. REBECCA W. PETTUS wife of W. R. PETTUS of Limestone. September 14, 1849 MRS. EMILY J. PLEASANTS died at Huntsville September 2 aged 41. Daughter of GOVERNOR THOMAS BIBB and PAMELIA THOMPSON and was born in Petersburg, Virginia on 20 November 1808.... Married 30 July 1824 COL. JAMES J. PLEASANTS.... Died in Dallas County MRS. MARGARET 0. BLEVINS (see Bible record), wife of MR. JOHN BLEVINS aged 41. Formerly a resident for many years of this place where she was raised. Episcopalian. Died on 27, DR. JOHN V. McKINNEY of Fayetteville, Tennessee in his 60th year. On 31st, MR. JAS. GRIGSBY, an old citizen of Limestone. Married on 9th at residence of MRS. DEMENT's by REV. R. W. CRUTCHER, MR. PHILIP DEDMAN to MRS. MARY C. VAUGHAN all of this county. September 21,1849 Died in Lauderdale County (will in volume 104, page 47) on 3rd, MR. LEVI CASSITY of Cypress Factory aged 50 years. In Franklin County on 11th, CAPT. GEORGE COCKBURN, an old citizen. September 28, 1849 Died on 9th after a short illness, MRS. MARTHA HALL, consort of the late CAPT. THOMAS H. HALL of Triana in 58th year. Native of Charlestown, Virginia, where she came to womanhood. Departed this life September 22 at Huntsville, Alabama at the residence of her son, NEILL McCORD, MRS. JENET McCORD, consort of AZEL McCORD, who was born in Warren County, Kentucky February 5, 1795, aged 54 years. On 25th, in this place, MARGAERT ELLEN aged about 13 years, daughter of MRS. MARY WALPOLE. October 5, 1849 Died at her residence. MARY HOLLOWELL, consort of WM. D. HOLLOWELL on 1st instant at 7 a.m. after a lingering illness of 18 weeks, in her 40th year. Baptist 9 years. Holly Springs copy. Married on the 20th instant in New Market by REV. M. H. BONE, M. WILLIAM DOUGLASS to MISS MARY JANE LAUGHINGHOUSE, all of Madison County. (volume 133, page 23) Died at her residence, MARY HOLLOWELL, consort of WILLIAM D. HOLLOWELL on the 1st instant at 7 a.m. after a lingering illness of 18 weeks.... MONTGOMERY aged 24 of Athens (probably she same as ANDREW J., died October 1, 1849 at 23 buried in Garden cemetery) October 19, 1849 Died on 14 after a short illness, MR. THOMAS D. BRADFORD aged 34 leaving many friends and relations to mourn his loss. October 26, 1849 Married in this place on the 18th instant by REV. E. C. SLATER, MR. JOHN C. YERGER to MISS MARIA F. KINKLE (volume 113, page 97). Married at the residence of MR. C. C. GERON in this place on the 18th instant by REV. E. C. SLATER, MR. JOHN H.
