The stonecutter responsible for this stone made an error in the lettering which made the stone worthless. The stonecutter was a friend of the family who lived at this place and when the family dog died he gave them the stone to mark the grave of the beloved pet. It is not known whether the stonecutter's error was in the dates or name nor where this man is actually buried. GRIFFIN CEMETERY (35) LOCATION: Sec. 21-2S-1W. S/2 NE NE.
