Died at his residence in Bellefonte, Jackson County, Alabama on 8th instant J (or I) A. C. EATON aged 30 years. Formerly published and edited Jackson County Democrat. For many years afflicted with a severe pulmonary complaint. Left a wife and 5 small children. At time of decease, held office of Register in Chancery and Tax Assessor for the county. State of Alabama--Madison County. Probate Court March Term 1853. Administrator versus heirs and distributees of THOMAS WILLIAMS, deceased. JAMES WILLIAMS resides in Morgan County, Alabama, SUSAN, wife of WILLIAM HOLLIS, MARTHA, wife of ------- BELL, who resides in Jackson County, Alabama and the following grandchildren of his deceased daughter, wife of EZEKIEL MILLER, who resides in Limestone County, Alabama towit, JAMES E. MILLER, a minor over 14, AMANDA JANE MILLER and MARGARET MILLER under 14. State of Alabama--Madison County. Probate Court March Term 1853. JOHN W. SCRUGGS and JAMES H. SCRUGGS, executors versus Heirs and distributees of JULIA S. DRIVER, deceased. ELIZABETH HUNT, wife of WILLIAM R. HUNT resides in Panola County, Mississippi, WILLIAM DRIVER resides in Knoxville, Tennessee and JULIA MOORE DRIVER resides temporarily in Charleston, South Carolina, heirs of above. April 13 1853 bied on 18 March 1853 at residence of her husband CAPT. NICHOLAS DAVIS of Limestone County, Alabama MRS. MARTHA DAVIS aged 63 years, 7 months, 11 days. Born in Virginia 7 September 1790...she was married to CAPT. NICHOLAS DAVIS in the year 1806 (whole column long). In New Orleans on Saturday (26th) of March after a long and painful illness, MRS. JANE C. RATHER of Decatur. On 1st, KATE, infant daughter of MR. LEWIS M. KENNARD of this place. April 20, 1853 Married on 5th at residence of GEN. MOORE in Lincoln County by REV. MR. COWAN, MR. JOEL B. SMITH, formerly of Nashville to MISS BETTIE daughter of the late GOV. YELL of Arkansas. Died in Huntsville April 5 aged 9 years BETTIE COLLEY, second daughter of JUDGE LANE of this place.... April 7, 1853 Married on Monday --- March by HON. REUBEN ESTES in Wills Valley (Dekalb County), Alabama, JULIA ROSALIE, daughter of HON. B. F. PORTER to JOHN PRATT, Esq., 2nd son of HON. JOHN PRATT, late of Union District, South Carolina now of Cherokee County, Alabama. Died on 18 of consumption, MR. EbMUND TOWNSEND, an old and well known citizen of this county. On same day, MR. PLEASANT STRONG, a worthy citizen of this county. May 4 1853 Married at Southern Hotel, Huntsville, Alabama (Fayetteville (Tennessee) Observer May 5, 1853; says HOLMES P.) by REV. P. B. ROBINSON on 21 April 1853, MR. HOLMES H. HOPKIfJS of Pulaski, Tennessee to MISS JULIA A. MORRIS (HOLMES H. in marriage record) of Jackson County, Alabama (voltime 147, page 64 for marriage record). On 19 by REV. G. A. COLLIER, MR. JOHN A. F. VANN to MISS MARY J. E. HUGGINS all of this county (volume 124, page 4). On Tuesday 26 April by JOHN T. HADEN, Esq., MR. ROBT. H. OWEN to MISS OBEDIENCE A. CHILDRESS--all of this county (volume 53, page 10). Died at his residence in this county on 19th instant, MR. PLEASANT STRONG, son of GEORGE and MARY STRONG, and was born in Goochland County, Virginia 14th July 1798. Moved in 1806 to Davidson County, Tennessee and from there to Bedford County 1807. In 1819 he removed to Lauderdale County, Alabama, where he remained until 1822 during which year he settled in this county, where he spent remainder of his life. Married three times and leaves a wife and 10 children, 5 by the 1st wife and 5 by the last.... May 11, 1853 Married on 28th by REV. B. C. CHAPMAN, MR. ABRAM H.
