Died, JOSEPH CLOYD. Bom in Botetourt County, Virginia where he remained until fall of 1837 at which time he emigrated to Madison County, Alabama with a large family, several of whom have preceded him to the grave...M. E. Church South February 1848. Died at residence of his son-in-law, MR. JOHN R. F. HEWLETT on 30 May aged 74-6-12. Died of consumption at her mother's residence in Madison County MRS. ELIZABETH DELANY in ---- year of her age. Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Huntsville since summer of 1847.... Died on 3rd after a lingering and painful illness, at his residence in the vicinity of Tuscumbia, EDWARD PEARSELL, Esq. (66 in North Carolina), one among the oldest and most esteemed citizens of Franklin County. Died in Demopolis, Marengo County on 27th, JOHN W(OODSON) HENLEY, Esq. (28 in Georgia) an able lawyer and well known throughout the state. Died in Nashville, Tennessee on Tuesday the 17th, MR. WM. H. WEAKLY, long a citizen of Florence. June 22, 1853 Died at his mother's residence (MARTHA H. BONE's) in Madison County, Alabama on 12th after a painful and protracted illness, FLEMING A. McCARTNEY in 24th year of his age and youngest and last son of the late JAMES McCARTNEY.... Died in Rogersville, Alabama on Sunday morning, 5th of June after a very short illness, MRS. ELIZA T. TWEDY. Cholera morbus. On 22 May, MARY ELMIRA SAWRIE aged 16 months. Died at Florence on 8th, MR. J. D. COFFEE aged 43 years. June 29, 1853 On 10 June, by JOHN A. JOHNSON, Esq., MR. WM. H. DUPREY to MRS. MARY JANE PAINE, all of Limestone County (volume 205, page 71). On 20 June by JOHN A. JOHNSON, Esq., MR. WM. HENDRICKS of Tennessee to MRS. MARY RAY of Limestone County. Departed this life on 11th in 31st year of her age, MRS. MARY ANN HADEN, wife of JOHN T. HADEN, Esq. Born and raised in Madison County. Professed religion in 1839 at Mt. Pleasant Camp Ground. United herself with C. P. Church. On 31 May 1842, she was united in marriage to BROTHER JOHN T. HADEN.... Died in Marion on 30th of dysentery, C. PERRY JONES, Professor of Natural Science and of Modern Language in Judson Female Institute aged 28. July 6, 1853 On 12th by JOHN W. IRBY, Esq.. ANDREW J. PROVENCE to MISS SARAH L. daughter of JAMES RAGSDALE--all of Madison County (volume 64, page 67). On 28 June last by REV. B. C. CHAPMAN, MR. ANDREW C. McCARTNY of Tennessee to MISS MARY P. DONALDSON of Madison County (volume 48, page 24). Died in this place on Thursday morning last, 30 June after a brief illness of about 36 hours, FLORA aged about 4 years, second daughter of WILLIAM B. and HARRIET S. FIGURES. Died--at his Iron wroks near Talladega on 15th instant COL. WALTER RIDDLE. Born and raised in Pennsylvania...Presbyterian. There remains but one brother and a sister, MR. JOHN C. RIDDLE of Montevallo and MISS S. E. RIDDLE of Presbyterian Collegiate Institute, Talladega. Died at his father's (blurred) residence in this place, June 26 about 8 o'clock p.m. JEREMIAH CLEMONS, son of JOHN and JANE READY. Brain fever, lasted about 14 days. Aged 7 years 9 days. Died on 30 of congestive chill, MR. JAMES RAGSDALE. Well known and much respected. Was at time of death a candidate to represent Madison County in the legislature. Departed this life Thursday 22nd in Marion County, Alabama. A. A. ALLEN aged 33 from effects of two aortal wounds inflicted with a knife in left breast by M. S. BRIGHT. July 13, 1853 Married on 20th in Tallapoosa County by HON. MARK LANE, MR. BENJAMIN GARDNER, Junior Editor of Montgomery Journal to MRS. HARRIET L. SUMNER formerly of Elizabeth City, North Carolina. On 22 June last by REV. MR. LAWRENCE, MR. WILLIAM L. JONES to MISS CALEDONIA M. LAWLER, all of Madison County, Alabama (volume 130, page 19). 529 - (3829)
