Married on 30 July by REV. R. E. SAUNDERS, MR. SOL. K. SCRUGGS to MISS MARTHA K. PENDERGAST, all of Limestone County, Texas. On 16th by J. H. THOMASON, Esq., MR. WILLIAM ROBINSON and MISS MARGARET A. CAMPBELL, both of Somerville, Alabama. Died, HESTER SUSANNA HUGHS NOWLIN, born 6 October 1852, departed this life 18 August 1853, youngest child of DAVID S. NOWLIN. MRS. LOUISA H. BLEVINS, wife of GEORGE P. BLEVINS, Esq. of Selma, Alabama died at Shelby Springs on 10 August 1853 aged 26 leaving a daughter and son. Second daughter of HON. ARTHUR F. HOPKINS of Mobile and a native of Huntsville. Died on 22nd after a short illness, MR. ROBERT S. NANCE aged about 42 leaving a wife and 2 children.... Died on 26th of measles, MR. THOMAS J. BIBB, a highly respected and worthy citizen of this county. September 7, 1853 Died at the residence of her father in Somerville. Alabama August 19 LOUISA PERKINS RICE, youngest daughter of HON. GREEN P. RICE and ANN E. RICE (GREEN P. RICE married ANN E. TURNER in Lawrence County 1826). Died in Guntersville, Alabama on ---- August last after a lingering illness of many weeks, MRS. HENRY C. LAY, MR. ARCHIBALD J. IRWIN (46 in Pennsylvania) to MISS MARIA S. HUNTON. Married on 18th by JOHN TURRENTINE, Esq., WM. S. HARVEY to MISS SARAH A. CLEM, all of Limestone County. Married on 30th at Presbyterian Church by REV. MR. MITCHELL, REUBEN G. SCOTT (18 in South Carolina) of Madison County to MISS MARY ANN TOWNSEND of Athens. September 14 1-853 Married in Giles County, Tennessee on 3rd by SQUIRE HOLLOWAY, MR. JOHN H. JOHNSON to MISS MARTHA J. COPELAND (13 in Alabama, daughter of BRANCH), both of this place. Died on 30th at his residence in this county, MR. JOHN SHARPE (63 in Kentucky) aged about 60 years--one of the oldest settlers of the county. Also on 6th, MR. GEORGE SHARPE (17 in Alabama), son of the former, a young man of promise, cut down in the vigor of manhood.... Dated from McNulty, September 1853. Died of measles at her father's, RICHARD PEETE (26? in Virginia) in Harrison County, Texas on 28 July last, after an illness of 11 days, MISS MARY L. PEETE (12 in Alabama), 15 years of age.... Died at Tuscumbia, Alabama (REV. MOSELEY has it Tuscahoma, Choctaw County) on 26th of yellow fever contracted in New Orleans, REV. JAMES 0. WILLIAMS (M. E. Church) aged 43. Died on 2 August at residence ofhis mother 10 miles north of Huntsville, CHARLES D. McCAA (15 in Alabama). Bom in Madison County, Alabama, the place of his death, on 22 September 1835. Also at same place on 27 August, JAMES P. McCAA (21 in Alabama), bom October 13, 1828--only son of the late CHARLES McCAA. They left a widowed mother (MARY 47 in Virginia) and six sisters, nearly all small. September 21, 1853 Married on 8th by REV. D. B. HALE (son of ---- (faded) and NANCY (COLEWART) LEGG), MR. ANDREW C. LEGG (30 in Alabama; 1st wife TYRA ANN) to MISS MARTHA GRAY (2nd wife), all of Limestone County (daughter of LEVEN and SARAH --- (faded)). 532 - (3832)
